Factory-finished in Malaga Red over black vinyl, this late-model 914 is equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox paired with a fuel-injected 1.8-liter engine. This West Coast example features a leather-wrapped 4-spoke steering wheel, a rebuilt transaxle, new front shocks and brake lines, as well as aftermarket 15" aluminum wheels which were installed new by the original selling dealer. This nicely appointed 914 is offered for auction by its third owner out of California.
A shade offered during the final two model years of the 914, this example is finished in Malaga Red. The seller notes scuffing on the top of the fenders and some chips on the driver’s door. This 914 is equipped with dual exterior mirrors, a removable black Targa top, and aftermarket 15" aluminum wheels dressed in an older set of tires (2005). A spare tire and jack reside in the trunk.
The cabin is upholstered in black vinyl and features a black leather-wrapped 4-spoke steering wheel along with red and black Coco floormats. Noted updates include new door seals along with a retro Bluetooth radio and new speakers which were added in December 2021. The original radio is said to be included and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be working properly.
Powered by an air-cooled and fuel-injected 1.8-liter flat-four engine, this 914 offers up to 76 HP and 100 lb.-ft of torque at the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox. Stopping power is provided by standard four-wheel disc brakes. The transaxle was rebuilt in January 2019. New front shocks, brake lines, a tune-up, and an oil change were completed in October 2021 at 88k miles. A fuel pump replacement and gas tank cleaning was also carried out in May 2022.
This sale will include a car cover, toolkit, owner's manuals, spare tire, original radio, multiple keys, and a clean title.

jamride I'm not going to remove the rocker covers, but just used a flashlight to look under and behind them and don't see any rust. The black undercoating is all I can see. The car spent it's first 46 years in its life in Portland, OR and Bellevue, WA , and the last 1.5 years in La Jolla, CA. It appears to have always been garaged. I hope that helps.
@Igitman sorry I've just got back into town. The hell hole is located directly underneath and a bit forward of the battery and the longs are as @moteringinvestments mentioned but those rocker covers can be removed to show what lies beneath. Both are very common rust areas. Thanks @seller for responding

Hi. If I may... I believe "longs," is short for "longitudinals" in Porsche-speak. They are what on other cars might be called "rockers," or "rocker panels." In this case they are the outboard part of the floorboards and run between the wheel openings. The are structural members. Guys, am I correct?
Nice car, also interested in seeing more pictures of the hell hole, it is the tray and area under the battery in the engine compartment.
@jamride If the "hell hole" means the engine compartment, there are a number of photos toward the end of the group of photos. I don't know what the "exposed longs" are. Sorry, but I am not a mechanic.

Hi @lgitman - Good looking car and I love the American Racing wheels! A tip for an optimum sale here is that you're gonna need a lot more shots of the underside, battery tray, hell hole, longs without covers, etc. to get top dollar. These questions will be coming from any serious bidders. GLWTA!

Welcome to the auction of my 914. I bought the car 1.5 years ago for use in classic car tours; I did the Targa California in the car last May on the Central California Coast. It was fun and the car performed well. After letting the car mostly sit since then I decided to sell it. The car is well-sorted and everything works. Based on repair receipts I received when I purchased the car, it has only been driven 3,500 miles since February of 2015. The car is an excellent original condition. If you have any questions, I'd be glad to answer them.
