This 1975 Porsche 914 has been restored and finished in Signal Yellow over black leatherette upholstery along with the installation of a rebuilt 2.0-liter VW Type 4 engine. A classic air-cooled Porsche with significant refurbishments, this 914 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.

During the restoration, this 914 is said to have received new floor pans and sheet metal for the front and rear luggage compartments. It was refinished in the classic Porsche color of Signal Yellow including the door jambs and trunks. The seller notes the car’s original color was Berber Yellow and the current paintwork remains in good overall condition. Equipment includes a removable black roof panel, vinyl-covered sail panels, backdated body-colored bumpers, slim European-style rear bumperettes, a polished driver’s side mirror, and a set of 15” Mahle Pedrini wheels dressed in Century Touring tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin is lined with Charcoal carpeting and upholstered in black leatherette including basketweave pattern door panels, seat centers, and dashboard trim. Accessories include a dashboard cap, ventilation controls, a vintage cassette stereo, a wooden gear knob, a center armrest, and a black four-spoke steering wheel.

This 914 has been fitted with a rebuilt 2.0-liter VW Type 4 engine featuring dual carburetors. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission and stopping power comes from disc brakes at each corner. The seller reports there are no outstanding maintenance items at this time.

This sale will include a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “This is a restored car with a 2.0 VW bus motor. All floors are replaced. Interior Looks and drives well. The engine is strong and pulls well. The transmission is good and all gears work as they should. The clutch is good. The brakes are good. No rust on this 914. The paint shines nicely. A very well-sorted driver level 914 that will not disappoint.”

it is relevant, what is miles is showing on the cluster, why is pictures blurred out?? All titles say something either Exempt or Exceeds mechanical limits! Here let me help so you can take a little more when you ask you questions!

  • Morris0906 (seller) 10 months, 1 weekago

Title mileage doesn't say anything. This is kind of irrelevant as car is being sold TMU. Car is in storage right now so not easily accessible. Gauges are functioning. Regards

  • ABD20152 (registered bidder) 10 months, 1 weekago

Does the title say Exceeds Mechanical limits or Exempt? What is the current miles showing on gauges? Is the gauges functioning?

  • Morris0906 (seller) 10 months, 1 weekago

No mileage reported on title. California title Odo may or may not be original to car. Car is being sold TMU. Regards

  • ABD20152 (registered bidder) 10 months, 1 weekago

Do you have clear picture of the odometer? What does the title show on miles and what does is state on your title? Is the odometer working? What miles does it show?

FYI. 914 idles smoothly, no rocking from side to side and power band is consistent. Regards

  • Morris0906 (seller) 10 months, 2 weeksago

Yes. The guy who built said he built to 2.4 as a spare for his bus but never used. It feels a lot more responsive than a normal 914 2.0. This will out run a 2056cc as I've had a few of these motors and this bus motor has power. Regards

  • Manpot 10 months, 2 weeksago

Nice car but the bus engine oi quite a different beast than the one put in 914's..has this bus motor been upgraded, cam etc?

  • Morris0906 (seller) 10 months, 2 weeksago

This is for registration in California only:
'New owner would take title to DMV with bill of sale and pay registration. New tags would be given to new owner there and then and title would arrive to new owner in mail"
    Just a regular formality. Regards

  • srodgrg (registered bidder) 10 months, 2 weeksago

What would be required to get it off non-op and licensed again?
    Thanks!

@Peabo No documentation on engine rebuild. It was built by a bus guy and never used. Runs strong and sounds sweet! Regards

  • Peabo (registered bidder) 10 months, 2 weeksago

Beautiful 914. Do you have specs for the engine rebuild? Specifically was the cam chosen for the webers? Thank you
