Having spent most its life in Utah, this 1974 Porsche 914 1.8 was eventually brought to Arizona where an extensive custom restoration was carried out by Patrick Motorsports including lightweight GT-style bodywork, BF Torino sport seats, a Carrera front suspension setup, an adjustable front sway bar, Bilstein rear shocks, and an upgraded 2.4-liter motor built by Jake Raby. This custom 914 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Arizona.
This 914 is said to have been completely refinished in its original color of Signal Orange in 2005 and has been fitted with a lightweight GT-style hood and rear decklid along with a GT-style front spoiler with an oil cooler vent. The car’s disassembly was completed by Patrick Motorsports and included some repairs to the metalwork and plugging holes in the chassis that were originally added for air conditioning. Equipment includes a matching removable hardtop, pop-up headlamps, body-colored rocker panels, a polished driver’s side mirror, and 16”x6” Fuchs alloy wheels. The car rides on a set of Continental Sport tires showing date codes from 2019. The seller describes the exterior to be in excellent overall condition apart from a few small paint chips. Detailed images are provided in the gallery including photos from the restoration.
The black vinyl interior has been fitted with a pair of sport bucket seats from BF of Torino, Italy, along with a three-spoke MOMO Corse steering wheel and additional VDO gauges mounted below the dashboard for oil pressure and temperature, battery voltage, and cylinder head temperature. All gauges and accessories are said to be working properly.
This 914 is equipped with a 2.4-liter flat-four motor that was custom built by Jake Raby featuring an S.D.S electronic fuel injection system and a Tangerine Racing 4-into-1 header merge system. The seller notes an interchangeable muffler and catalytic converter are included with the sale. A dyno-tested output of up to 206 HP and 180 lb.-ft of torque is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. Additional work performed by Patrick Motorsports included the installation of a Carrera front suspension setup with new struts, wheel hubs, brake calipers, and A-arms along with a 19mm adjustable through-body front sway bar, vented rear rotors and GT-style spaced calipers, Bilstein rear shocks absorbers, Eibach rear springs, and an adjustable rear proportioning valve for the brake system. A Setrab fan pack unit oil cooler was also added at the rear for additional cooling.
This sale will include some documentation and a clean title.

@TheDallasCollector I think it was built on a 2.0L base / core, it was not built on the original 1.8L, the 901 Side shift gearbox is original to the car

@UpstateSC This Dyno result was not ours, but I think it was an engine Dyno.
We have a chassis Dyno that gives us Rwhp and we use 13.5% drivetrain loss as our "add" factor based on experience. (Using a 1 to 1 gear)

The dyno sheet heading states "corrected engine output." Are the numbers actual measured RW hp, or corrected for estimated driveline loss?
