Now available for auction is this 1975 Porsche 914 1.8 finished in Nepal Orange over a black leatherette interior.  Among the final iterations of the Porsche 914, this 1975 example carries a fuel-injected flat-four engine and sports late-model rubber safety bumpers.  Acquired by the current caretaker from its second owner out of San Diego in 2003, this 914 has been garage-kept and sparingly driver ever since and is now being offered for auction out of Southern Florida.

This 914 came factory finished in Nepal Orange, a 914-specific color that replaced the more common shade of Signal Orange for the final two years of production.  Black Porsche side graphics have been applied along with premium ceramic window tint.  The seller notes that the entire car was refinished in its original color following a minor side-swipe accident about 13 years ago.  The original windshield has been retained and the battery tray has been replaced as a precautionary measure, additional images are provided in the gallery.  The 15” Fuchs wheels feature colored Porsche center crests and come dressed in a set of Yokohama tires.

The cabin is upholstered in black leatherette and features an upgraded MOMO steering wheel and leather shift knob.  A battery kill switch has been installed and an electric trunk latch has been integrated which is operated by a button hidden beneath the dashboard.  A carpet cover has been placed over the dashboard along with an orange-accented 914-logo floormat in the passenger footwell.  The seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be working properly including the front fog lights.

This 914 is equipped with an air-cooled fuel-injected 1.8L flat-four engine which produced as much as 76 HP and 100 lb.-ft of torque when new.  The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed manual gearbox.  The car has been driven very sparingly throughout the current ownership and the seller notes the fuel injection system to be fully intact and in great working order.

Accompanied by a clean title, this nicely presented driver-grade 914 is just waiting to be enjoyed by a new owner.

Well bought as they say! I am a little surprised it did not go higher, but the prices have been going down slightly as of late on these great little cars. Needs a little work, but don't they all sooner or later? Enjoy!

At the behest of my house CFO aka my wife: The reserve has been lowered more than enough to cover the 5% commission and auto-transport to anywhere in the lower 48. Come and get it!

@fpaniagua930 Going back to Cali! Make it happen

  • fpaniagua930 (registered bidder) 2 years, 6 monthsago

Hmmmm, I'm wondering how much in total this Trick R Treat would cost me to:
    1. Win the auction
    2. Pay the Commission to PCar
    3Ship it to California.

    Got 90 minutes to ponder.
    Thanks!

Last night I went for a (last) drive. After warming the engine up in second making my through downtown to the highway I accelerated on to 95 North and with little traffic was cruising in fifth at 3600rpm going more than the posted. Drives so nice.
Today's the day... Good luck to you all.

I have always loved 914s since my parents had an early '70s white one that was a wedding present from my grandparents. It was not until 2003 when I was in my late 20s living in San Diego and driving an '80s Subaru wagon I picked up for $400 to commute the <3 miles from my rental shack in Mission Beach to San Diego Divers Supply working in the shop during the day and instructing SCUBA classes at night. One morning while heading to work I passed a house (much nicer than my shack) that had this orange 914 in the driveway. I was taken aback that I had not noticed the 914 on my 6 day a week commute. The next morning I slowed down while driving by and saw the "For Sale" sign in the window. I pulled over and rang the bell. The gentleman that was selling the car was an assistant professor of biology at UCSD and had owned the 914 for 8 years. "Why would you ever sell this awesome car?" I asked knowing I could not afford the price on the "For Sale" sign. He took me to the attached garage and pushed the remote to open the roll door. I swear I thought there would be a 360 Ferrari or something "better" than a Porsche in there. It was a brand new... Mazda Miata in dark green w/ tan interior. I remember biting the inside of my cheek to keep myself from laughing. Apparently the professor wanted a convertible he could drive while listening to his Mozart CDs. Even though I thought he was crazy, I had to admit he had a point.
So when he asked if I wanted to buy the 914 I told him I could not afford the asking price on the window. He laughed and said that price was only to keep "kids from knocking on his door". The real price was HALF what was written. We went for a test drive with him driving first while showing me the "upside down" shift pattern. Then I drove and fell instantly more in love. The following week I became the only 2 car owner on my block (multiple blocks likely). I named the car Trick 'R Treat because my landlords young son called the car "Halloween" we they saw me drive up for the first time. Anyway thanks for letting me reminisce.

    @noahkl : thanks for the quick response…..

  • noahkl (seller) 2 years, 6 monthsago

@richjs43 The dash is cracked. I will post a photo. The carpet does stay perfectly in place at any speed even though it is not attached to the dash.

  • richjs43 (registered bidder) 2 years, 6 monthsago

//2noahkl: Is the dash cover on because the dash is cracked? (no offense meant)
    thanks….beautiful 914…I owned a silver 914 2.0,,,,awesome handling Porsche..

I love this car. She brings a smile to the faces of all that see her!
However, with the blessing of my wife I recently purchased a '19 911T. Her one caveat being that I pass on my beloved 914 to it's next handler (and use the proceeds to pay down the debt on the 991). So here we are... After 18 years I look forward to assisting in the next chapter of this Teeners joyous life.
