The BMW R90/6 was introduced in 1974 and produced until 1976 as the high-displacement version of the “slash-6” motorcycle, equipped with a 900cc air-cooled boxer engine. This R90/6 was acquired by the seller in 2022 and is said to have originally come from Arizona. Featuring a matching sidecar with a windscreen and luggage rack, this R90/6 is now being offered at auction by its seller out of Massachusetts.
The motorcycle is finished in black with white accents on the fenders and tank. Equipment includes handlebar-mounted mirrors, a two-up vinyl seat, rubber knee bolsters, a passenger grab rail and footpegs, center and side stands, and dual polished exhaust pipes. The BMW-branded sidecar is finished in matching black with white striping and has been fitted with a windscreen and a rear luggage rack.
The R90/6 is powered by a 900cc air-cooled boxer engine with twin carburetors and was rated at 60 HP and 53 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheel is driven by a 5-speed manual transmission with shaft drive. Braking is handled by a two drilled front discs and a rear drum, and the suspension consists of a conventional leading-axle fork with rubber gaiters, as well as dual shocks mounted to the swingarm on the left, and the final drive enclosure on the right. The seller reports maintenance was performed by Max BMW of South Windsor, Connecticut.

Thank you all for bidding. Just a few words before auction ends. This bike was stored in a climate controlled garage and according to the owners wife was never ridden in the rain and was always cleaned after every ride. It's condition shows it. There is also not a leak or drip of oil anywhere on it, this is a solid excellent running bike that won't need anything for year to come. Bit with confindence. Thanks again.
