Finished in Guards Red over a custom reupholstered interior, this final-year 1976 Porsche 914 has been modified with a 2,258cc engine built by FAT Performance in California along with new suspension components, upgraded disc brakes, and a 5-lug hub conversion with polished Fuchs wheels. Said to have been driven less than 300 miles since the installation of its upgraded air-cooled engine, this 914 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Arizona.
This 914 has been completely refinished in the traditional Porsche color of Guards Red and customized with front marker deletes and backdated chrome bumpers. Most of the chrome trim and rubber was replaced during assembly and new vinyl sail panels were installed along with new taillight lenses, side mirrors, Porsche lettering on the engine cover, and polished 15”x6” Fuchs wheels. Additional images are provided in the gallery.
The black leatherette interior has been redone with all new carpeting, trim pieces, and reupholstered seats with custom red tartan inserts. A new MOMO Monte Carlo steering wheel has also been added along with a new Bluetooth stereo and speakers in the door panels.
Built by FAT Performance, the air-cooled 2,258cc flat-four engine produces up to 175 HP and features a 78mm forged crankshaft, 215mm Kennedy Stage 1 pressure plate, 215mm weighted flywheel, 96mm pistons and cylinders, dual Weber carburetors, and a 50-amp Bosch alternator. The engine has also been fitted with a custom stainless tuned exhaust from A1 Racing. Power is sent to the rear wheel through a 5-speed manual gearbox which was serviced at the time of the engine build. The suspension was also overhauled along with the installation of upgraded disc brakes. The car is tuned for 91-octane pump gas and has been run using high-performance racing oil since the engine was installed within the last 300 miles.
This sale will include a clean title.

Does the car have heater?
Current bid of $17k barely covers the cost of the engine alone in this car. Hope to see some serious bidders show up.

@CMcMillan its been backdated
@msandford74 the floors are all original as well as the trunk.
I thought the 76 had full rubber bumpers? My 74 had the rubber top, and chrome bottoms?
Has there been any metal work on the pan or longitudinals due to rust? Any known rust on the rest of the car?
Thanks for your time
Spoke to someone at the DMV, 76 and newer requires smog - regardless of insurance, license plates, etc....
will it pass california smog?
When and who painted the car? Any photos showing process; stripped, etc.? Thank you...
@Foxtrot correct
Just confirming that the car has no heat since there doesn't appear to be actual heat exchangers. Please advise...thank you. Nice looking Teener...

@RoxDen It has turn signals. That was an error in the description. The ugly side markers were removed. NOT TURN SIGNALS
I assume that turn signal deletes means there are no turn signals?
@aribeau I did not know that, need to look into it. I know of others here that struggle with smog items. Thanks

@Bruce914 Collector car insurance eliminates the need for emissions in all 50 states. If you do own collector cars you should look into that.
