This 1976 Porsche 930 Turbo Carrera represents one of a reported 530 US-spec Turbo’s built for the model year, and was ordered new in Black over a Black leather interior, additionally optioned with a rear limited-slip differential and a sunroof. It was acquired by the seller in 2022 from a large collection and has received a recent service totaling over $25k including a new clutch, release bearing, flywheel, pressure plate, and transmission synchros, in addition to a new drive belt, a new motor mount, a valve adjustment, a new fuel pump, a new battery, a new accumulator, and a service for the sunroof. Now showing approximately 69,995 miles on the odometer and accompanied by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, this 1976 930 Turbo is being offered at auction by the seller based out of British Columbia, Canada.
The exterior is finished in Black and features widened model-specific fender flares and the iconic whale tail spoiler. Equipment includes a front spoiler, fog lights, black stone guards, gold brake calipers, front and rear US-spec impact bumpers, and early-model “Turbo Carrera” badging. The seller reports the front and rear bumpers have been recently refinished, the passenger door handle was replaced in 2021, as well as the sunroof drains. Detailed images showing the exterior and undercarriage are provided in the gallery. The black-faced 15” Fuchs wheels are mounted with Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo R tires displaying date codes from 2015.
The cabin features two bucket seats that are said to have been reupholstered in black leather under previous ownership, with matching dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Amenities include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a matching Porsche-branded shift knob, an optional power sunroof which has recently been serviced, VDO instrumentation, power windows, and an aftermarket Sony head unit. Vents for air conditioning are visible under the dashboard, but the seller reports that the compressor has been removed under previous ownership and will be included in the sale.
This 930 is equipped with an air-cooled 3.0 flat-six turbocharged engine which was factory rated at 245 HP and 253 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual gearbox and optional limited-slip differential, allowing for acceleration from 0-60 MPH in 5.2 seconds with a top speed of 156 MPH. The 930 Turbo was factory equipped with a retuned suspension and larger brakes to assist in keeping the car planted to the road. This example has recently received a full service from a high-end Porsche shop in the Vancouver area, including a valve adjustment, service of the sunroof, a new fuel pump, a new battery, a new accumulator, a new accessory drive belt, and a new motor mount, as well as a new clutch, release bearing, flywheel, pressure plate, and transmission synchros.
This sale will include a clean Canadian title, and the original air conditioning compressor.
