The UAZ-469 was introduced in 1971 for use in the Soviet military as an off-road light utility vehicle. With a 12” ground clearance and seating for up to 7 occupants, the UAZ was utilized to transport troops through the roughest terrain and was designed to be easily repaired in the field. The seller states this 1976 example was imported from Russia and is one of a only small number titled in the United States. Showing just over 5k miles on the odometer, this 1976 UAZ-469 is now being offered at auction by its seller out of New York.

The exterior is finished in gloss olive green and includes a black metal roof frame, a fold-down windshield, a rear steel bumper with steps, a swing-out rear tire carrier with a UAZ-branded spare cover, front and rear mudflaps, front recovery hooks, and a rear hitch receiver ball. The seller reports some scratches throughout the body, detailed images are provided in the gallery. The black 15” steel wheels are mounted with military-style tires that read “Made in USSR”.

The interior features seating for seven passengers with two front removable metal-frame seats, a rear bench seat, and two jump seats in the rear, all upholstered in black vinyl. The cabin is equipped with a body-colored dashboard and flooring, a three-spoke steering wheel, a heater, and auxiliary instrumentation mounted in the center dash for amperage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level.

The UAZ is equipped with a carbureted 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine rated at 75 HP and 123 lb.-ft of torque. All four wheels are driven by a 4-speed manual transmission and a twin-stick dual-range transfer case. The front suspension consists of a live axle with coil springs and drum brakes, and the rear uses leaf springs with drum brakes.
