Available for auction is this 1977 Chevrolet Corvette C3 finished in Viper Blue Metallic over a Smoked Grey leather interior. The C3 generation Corvette remained in production through the 1960s, 70s, and 80s, helping to make it one of the most iconic and recognizable designs in American automotive history. This 1977 example was acquired by the seller approximately 15 years ago, who since completed a light restoration including new paint and a 350ci GM Performance crate engine before selling the car to their brother in 2015. The car went on to win several shows in Michigan and Ohio before being reacquired by the seller earlier in 2022. Over the last eight years, the car has been serviced with new brakes, an exhaust, a stereo system, and most recently a rebuilt transmission. This Corvette is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Indiana.

During its restoration in 2014, this Corvette was refinished in the custom shade of Viper Blue Metallic. Equipment includes removable T-top roof panels, pop-up headlights, polished rocker panel trim, and a set of 15” Rally wheels dressed in Cooper Cobra Radial GT tires from 2012. Additional images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin is upholstered in Smoked Grey leather and exhibits some signs of age-related wear. Amenities include air conditioning, a tilt steering column, cruise control, power windows, a clock, and an upgraded sound system with a Kenwood radio head unit and Bluetooth connectivity. The seller confirms that all gauges and accessories remain functional apart from the blower motor which works intermittently.

This Corvette is equipped with a GM Performance 350ci V8 crate engine which is said to produce up to 300 HP. The rear wheels are driven by way of a Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 3-speed automatic transmission. The C3 Corvette was equipped with fully independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes as standard. Service over the last eight years is said to include new brakes, a new exhaust system, alternator, battery, and carburetor. The seller notes the crate engine was installed in 2013 approximately 4k miles ago, and that the transmission was rebuilt earlier in 2022.

This sale will include a clean title.

@dfish66 Sorry Pcar community I just had it brought to my attention that the interior pictures that I uploaded were of the car prior to clean up, please check them out after clean up. They are not perfect, but are in good condition for 45 year old leather seats. Thanks for looking Dave

@dfish66 Sorry I meant Big Blocks

@Shesgonnakillme. You are correct, sorry I did not catch that in the Pcar write up. All of my personal collector cars are high horse big blacks, and all of the automatics are 400 turbo's, so I guess I read right past it. Thanks for pointing that out. Dave

As per the photos the car is equipped with a Turbo Hydramatic 350, not a 400.

@gkp200 I will try to get the car somewhere on a lift, if none are available I can put it on jack stands and get the best pics I can.

  • gkp200 (registered bidder) 1 year, 3 monthsago

Can you get some pictures of the underside with the car on a lift? Need photos of the usual rust locations, frame kickup, birdcage etc. thanks

@liedoctor Thank you for the nice comment, it actually looks much better in person when the sun is just right, it brings out all the subtle air brushing. I live in a different State than my brother, and have not seen the car in quite awhile, and forgot how good it looks.

    A great looking 77. GLWTA!

Thanks everyone for taking a look at our 1977 Corvette. The very mild custom paint was all airbrushed by one of the techs in my restoration shop in Northern Michigan around 2012. In 2013 we installed a brand new GM 350/300 HP crate motor. In 2015 I sold the Corvette to my brother in Ohio and bought it back this year and brought it to our Dealership in Indiana. The paint stills shines great and still looks amazing. The car runs great especially with all the new parts including the new transmission installed this year. Bid in confidence this car gets a lot of attention everywhere it goes and still wins at car shows after being done for ten years. The car has always been stored inside and been well maintained. The Corvette has around 4000 miles since the restoration and the car still retains its original interior. All fluids have been changed in preparation for the sale. We will be able to answer any questions you may have and welcome any inspections you would like to have done, or come look at the car in person, we are open Monday thru Friday 9 to 5. We are a Classic Car Dealer and hand pick every car we buy. We can also help you with any transportation needs you may have. Thank you Dan and Dave
