This 1977 Porsche 911S is believed to have been modified by Northern California Porsche hot rod builder Dink Farmer featuring a custom metal bodywork with a chopped-top roof, recessed headlights, 911 Turbo fender flares, a Carrera rear spoiler, and fiberglass bumpers. It was discovered in an unfinished state in Southern California about three years ago by the seller and his two brothers, a trio that has been collecting and modifying Porsches for over 45 years. The brothers set out to finish the car and refurbish its 3.2-liter Carrera engine along with the installation of a new upgraded suspension, 996 Turbo brakes, an anti-roll bar, and 18” Fikse wheels. It also features new custom houndstooth bucket seats, a MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, vintage Heuer rally timers, and leather RS-style door panels. This one-of-a-kind 911 custom is now being offered for auction out of California.

Under prior ownership, this car received extensive custom metalwork which is believed to have been carried out by Dink Farmer. Its defining feature is a 3” lowered roof which required cutting and sectioning the upper parts of the quarter panels, the rear window openings, and more. Steel 930 Turbo fender flares were installed at the front and rear, the headlights have been recessed or “Frenched” into the fenders, the seams between the cowl and top of the fenders have been filled in and smoothed-out and fiberglass bumpers are installed along with a Carrera-style rear spoiler. The front windshield was also derived from a 911 Speedster. The seller adds that there is no evidence of filler or Bondo used throughout the car. Under current ownership, the partially finished frames and side windows were completed with over 80 hours of painstaking labor. The new custom Lexan windows are fully functional, and the reshaped powder-coated frames are bordered by weatherstripping for a proper seal. The car was refinished in its current gray paint color about 20 years ago and has been decorated by the seller with 917-style mirrors and red contrasts for the oil cooler grille, cowl vent, brake calipers, and top stripe. The car rides on 18” Fikse wheels that have been restored in satin black with red anodized hardware. New tires were mounted two years ago and the seller indicates imperfections in the car’s paint, detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The black interior has been fitted with new carpeting, leather RS-style door panels, and custom low-back bucket seats trimmed in black leather with houndstooth cloth centers. Other accessories include a three-spoke MOMO steering wheel, a fire extinguisher, red seatbelts, red door pull straps, and a 911SC dashboard fitted with vintage Heuer rally timers. The seller adds that the gauges have been cleaned and refurbished, although the clock remains inoperable.

This 911 was fitted with a replacement 3.2-liter Carrera engine under prior ownership. The engine was removed by the current owners and overhauled with reconditioned cylinder heads, new pistons and internals, fuel injection rails, hardware, wiring, oil lines, and polished intake manifolds. The engine breathes through a pair of headers and a custom early 911 two-inlet muffler with 2.5” pipes exiting through the bumper. A front-mounted TRE Motorsports oil cooler has been installed as well. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed 915 manual transmission that has been rebuilt with new synchros, a new clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel. A new upgraded suspension and anti-roll bar have been installed and the brakes have been upgraded with 996 Turbo calipers and cross-drilled rotors.

This sale will include a clean title.

comments regarding price will be removed, we kindly ask that everyone refrains from that as there is no value in speculating. That is a great way to lose a car by assuming the price!

  • DonnyB (registered bidder) 1 week, 4 daysago

@Chopped77 Yea, all quotes are in that general range. Open is $869 w/RoadRunner.. Not sure the open would arrive unscathed?

  • Chopped77 (seller) 1 week, 4 daysago

    shipping should be $1200ish

  • Chopped77 (seller) 1 week, 4 daysago

No problem, bring a boom box and drive in the mornings...no A/C

  • DonnyB (registered bidder) 1 week, 4 daysago

Ok Chop... In the case my bid hits as a win, I am looking at shipping rates. But.. is the car road worthy to drive back to northern Arizona?

  • Chopped77 (seller) 1 week, 4 daysago

@DonnyB Don't have the set rails...At 5'7" you will have leg room and reach the pedals.

  • Chopped77 (seller) 1 week, 4 daysago

@DonnyB Clean title...non-op status, pink slip

  • DonnyB (registered bidder) 1 week, 4 daysago

Do you have the original seats or rails for the newer ones? I''m 5'7" and could not likely reach the pedals! LOL

  • DonnyB (registered bidder) 1 week, 4 daysago

I LIVE IN AZ WITH NO EPA TESTING... IS THE "CLEAN TITLE" READY TO BE TITLED OUT OF STATE WITHOUT ANY ISSUES? (OOPS) SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS... HOW IS IT TITLED NOW IN CALIF?

  • Chopped77 (seller) 1 week, 4 daysago

@WReiter We bolted the seats to the floor mounts to save space. I am 5'11" and have just enough head room.
Don't blow dry your hair the day you drive the car...LOL

  • WReiter (registered bidder) 1 week, 4 daysago

So, to make the seats adjustable you would need to add tracks. Would that raise the seat height by 1/2"+ ? I ask because I am 6' and probably just one there verge of being too tall for current setup.

  • Chopped77 (seller) 1 week, 4 daysago

I'll answer last batch of questions. The car was designed as a show car and to be driven...not a TRACK CAR
No A/C...the seats are bolted into the seat mounts...tracks can be added

  • Chongo (registered bidder) 1 week, 4 daysago

    The dude.
That asked if have a track car
That's not a track car. I have a track car. It's a 1972 911 full suspension roll cage 600 horsepower nitrous, 9 seconds in the quarter mile.

  • DonnyB (registered bidder) 1 week, 4 daysago

This car appears to be a dedicated track car, right?

  • DonnyB (registered bidder) 1 week, 4 daysago

    A/C?

  • DonnyB (registered bidder) 1 week, 4 daysago

sorry do they move forward and back and up and down

  • DonnyB (registered bidder) 1 week, 4 daysago

    Do those seats m
ove forward and aft, up and down?

  • DonnyB 1 week, 5 daysago

Bid in the amount of $31,000

  • Chopped77 (seller) 1 week, 5 daysago

Correct there are no cats....I have been driving around with a non -op registration......also on the other post thanks for the speedo info

  • WReiter (registered bidder) 1 week, 5 daysago

I'm sure that tach could be handled easily by Foreign Speedo here in San Diego.

  • WReiter (registered bidder) 1 week, 5 daysago

She does not have cats currently, correct? Just want to be certain. With stock 3.2 build, headers, no cats, and a chip she should make approx 240-245 crank HP. That's a good number for a car this light. Reliable, too!

  • Flsupraguy (registered bidder) 1 week, 5 daysago

Not sure how I feel about the rood but I'm sure it looks great in person!

  • Chopped77 (seller) 1 week, 5 daysago

@larrygk the chassis is a 1977...the motor I think 86 3.2 they run super clean. Again DO NOT hold me to this but I think just cats would pass visual and the emissions should be clean.

  • larrygk (registered bidder) 1 week, 5 daysago

I'll ask a stupid question: Is this meant to be a track car only with no way to pass CA emissions, etc.?
Asking as I am in San Diego.

  • Robrock 1 week, 5 daysago

  • Chongo (registered bidder) 1 week, 5 daysago

Sold the car about fifteen years ago
    I kick myself everyday.
It's the one thing I regret more than anything in my life

  • Chopped77 (seller) 1 week, 6 daysago

Your car sounds cool....how long ago did you sell it?

  • Chongo (registered bidder) 1 week, 6 daysago

On my last comment, I'm using voice command
    my car was a 1970 911T.
It was all tricked out like your car
.A lot of the work was done at porsche red line service here in tucson arizona

  • Chongo (registered bidder) 1 week, 6 daysago

Like to know if there's a reserve on this vehicle
Very much interested. I had a custom car. I built and it went back to Germany. It was in 1979 11. T with a 2.8 later pushing around 300 horsepower 915 gear box. All late model Carrera suspension beautiful car. Mexican gulf Blue. I like your car

  • Chopped77 (seller) 1 week, 6 daysago

@Wuliangye the windshield is PPG SOLEX DUPLICATE LAMINATED FW00193. My Guess this a replacement windshield for a speedster.

  • Wuliangye (registered bidder) 1 week, 6 daysago

Which windscreen did you use in the replacement ?? It's not German Glass.

  • rrysedorph 1 week, 6 daysago

  • Chopped77 (seller) 2 weeksago

The 3.2 was a stock rebuild and the tach needs to be repaired....simple job, just have not had time to send in. The repair shop is in So Cal.

  • WReiter (registered bidder) 2 weeksago

Engine sounds good, but why does the tach needle wander and bounce??

  • WReiter (registered bidder) 2 weeksago

Was the 3.2 rebuild to stock specs? And specifics/paperwork on the engine build? Chip? Stock flywheel?

  • hdarth 2 weeksago

Bid in the amount of $3,177

  • HoHo (registered bidder) 2 weeksago

This is beautiful and will be well out of my price range but damn, it's pretty! GLWS/A.

  • gf2020 (registered bidder) 2 weeks, 1 dayago

I'm 6' tall and this thing looks super cool.

  • HemiSam (registered bidder) 2 weeks, 1 dayago

The comments below regarding balance are appropriate. The roof only move is going to have to find an eye that sees it as working with the body below. A lot of good stuff here, but struggling with the lines.

  • Michaelscheid25 2 weeks, 1 dayago

  • twistym2 (registered bidder) 2 weeks, 1 dayago

@Chopped77 can you please post some start up and driving videos?

  • Chopped77 (seller) 2 weeks, 1 dayago

Hi Dave When I bought the car the tail already on the car and painted, so I just kept it. And the wheels were on the car also. The car can go in so many directions for personalization.

  • DaveWadf (registered bidder) 2 weeks, 1 dayago

I like the chop, but the rest of the car doesn’t align with the chop. The 18” wheels look to big… 15” Fuchs would look more period with the chop. And the right height is too high…. If you chop the top, then you really need the car to ride low… or else it’s off aesthetically. I’d probably lose the big tail or change to a duck.
Lots of potential on this car.

  • Bruce914 (registered bidder) 2 weeks, 2 daysago

This was in my class at Werks last year - unique car. GLWS

  • Chopped77 (seller) 2 weeks, 3 daysago

Hey 993 David...I am 6' and I would say I am the max height. Only thing you could do is cut the seat supports and bolt to actual floor...that would work

  • 993David (registered bidder) 2 weeks, 3 daysago

Hi,how is the headroom for a 6’4” driver?

  • 30KFT 2 weeks, 3 daysago

This would make Dean Jeffries smile...
