This 1977 Porsche 911S represents the final year of the 2.7-liter engine and comes finished in Guards Red over a black interior with optional Sport Seats. Family-owned since new, the seller reportedly invested over $30k to recondition the car after 24 years of climate-controlled storage where the car had been kept on an elevated rack with all fluids drained. Previously listed on PCARMARKET, this 911S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Washington with approximately 20k miles showing on the odometer.

Repainted in its original Guards Red color, this Coupe was configured without a sunroof and comes equipped with a driver’s side mirror, U.S. spec bumperettes, chrome window trim, aluminum rocker moldings, and factory 15” Fuchs wheels dressed in Michelin 195/65 R15 A/S tires. The seller indicates that the passenger door has dings and there are minor paint bubbles on the roof near the windshield. The front windshield seal and rear window seal have also been replaced. Additional images are provided in the gallery.

The black interior features optional Sport Seats with tartan inserts, a three-spoke leather steering wheel, a lockable glovebox, manual crank windows, and an aftermarket radio with door-mounted speakers. The air conditioning unit is currently uninstalled and was reportedly operational when removed.

The air-cooled 2.7-liter flat-six engine was rated at 165 HP, driving the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. The heater box exhaust manifolds have been replaced with headers, and an updated 11-blade fan was installed during the family’s ownership. The car was professionally maintained by a local Porsche technician and extensive service records are said to be included.

The sale will include a clean title, owner's manuals, toolkit, spare tire, car cover, and original parts that were removed and kept in a storage container.

The 2.7L engines that needed a rebuild did not have the thermo reactors removed, which trapped the heat and warped the magnesium case. This car had all that stuff removed early in its life plus added the 11 blade fan which enhanced the engine cooling.

Budget for an engine rebuild soon if you want to drive it. These 2.7s didnt last much past 50k miles

@polar911 I have an appt with my Porsche mechanic who know the car best so I’ll show it to him tomorrow morning.

I believe pic 9 it was. I see LR qtr is diff color.
I can see the car was repainted including doors off and door jambs repainted. Seems extreme for a low mileage car that was stored over half its life.
Then on top of that there is obvious tape lines, LR qtr, at door and hatch edge which suggest something happened after the full repaint

@polar911 I uploaded additional photos of the left rear quarter panel and don’t see any signs of accident repair or paint issues. Please point them out if I don’t have a proper eye on the issue. Thanks.

The car is on CL with no price as I am answering questions about the car and driving these CL inquiries to the auction.

I saw this very car on Seattle Craigslist not too long ago for 65K. Looks great from far. Not sure what's going on here. Story seems legit. Super low miles and interior is killer with the sport seats! Just checked, still on CL but no price listed. Not sure about here, but on BAT they do not tolerate cars with additional listings. Maybe seller forgot to remove. No sunroof and original parts is a plus. Good luck!

There are a few areas on the body where there was poor paint prep so that’s why the car has areas of paint touch up or imperfections. No accidents in the car’s history but poor paint prep for sure

  • Tfeinroth (seller) 4 months, 2 weeksago

No documentation of any accident history of the vehicle. I’ll ask my extended family member

  • polar911 (registered bidder) 4 months, 2 weeksago

Why was the left rear quarter panel painted after the full paint job? Accident?

  • Tfeinroth (seller) 4 months, 2 weeksago

The aging paint was fading on areas of the car so the car was painted.

  • polar911 (registered bidder) 4 months, 2 weeksago

Why did a 20k mi car that spent more than half its life in climate controlled elevated storage need a complete paint job.

  • Tfeinroth (seller) 4 months, 2 weeksago

The car was repainted in 2006 same original guards red. No accidents in its history.

  • Notthd (registered bidder) 4 months, 2 weeksago

Has the car ever been painted or accidents? Very nice example.

@witz thanks for the note. Car was in storage for over 24 years. 20K mileage is true and accurate. Car just needs to be driven more.

  • witz (registered bidder) 4 months, 2 weeksago

This is a very nice 77’ the bright trim around windows doesn’t match the door handle. I have the same red 77’ but the euro version. My trim is worn black anodized trim. The sport seats look great! The mileage is hard to believe.
