This 1977 Porsche 911S Coupe was originally sold in California and comes finished in Grand Prix White over a black interior. It derives power from a fuel-injected 2.7-liter flat-six engine paired with a 5-speed manual transaxle. The car was acquired by its current owner about 10 years ago and has since undergone extensive servicing along with some cosmetic enhancements, including a recent top-end engine reseal and replacement of the ignition components, oil lines, and fuel injectors, as well as the installation of an RS-style ducktail spoiler, custom plaid bucket seats, an upgraded exhaust system, and oil-fed Carrera chain tensioners as documented in the listing. Showing approximately 71k miles on the odometer, this final-year narrow-body 911 is now being offered for auction out of New Jersey.
This 911S Coupe came factory finished in Grand Prix White and was fitted with an aftermarket RS-style ducktail rear spoiler by the current owner along with aftermarket projector-style LED headlights and 15” Fuchs wheels in a custom machined finish. The original decklid and 14” wheels are said to accompany the sale. The sunroof was refinished under current ownership along with the lower front valence and rear bumper. The car rides on Sumitomo HTR tires from 2013 and some signs of road-going wear are present on the exterior.
The black interior has been fitted with a pair of custom bucket seats with plaid cloth inserts as well as a three-spoke MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, a billet shift knob, vintage dash-mounted Heuer rally stopwatches, and Lloyds floor mats & rear seat mats. Accessories include power windows, a sunroof, pop-out rear quarter windows, a heater, VDO gauges, and a quartz clock. The original seats and steering wheel accompany the sale and all gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.
Power comes from an air-cooled fuel-injected 2.7-liter flat-six engine that drives the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed manual transaxle. The engine has been fitted with upgraded SSI headers, a Dansk dual exhaust, oil-fed Carrera chain tensioners, an updated ignition system, and a backdated airbox lid. The seller notes the car’s original air injection system, airbox lid, and dealer-installed A/C system are included in the sale. A transmission overhaul is said to have been completed in 2003 along with the installation of a new clutch, and a service in 2015 including a new ignition unit, coil, wires, distributor parts, spark plugs, oil sender, front crank seal, and tie rods. Most recently in 2023, a top-end engine reseal was performed along with valve adjustments, re-torqued head studs, new spark plugs, fuel injectors, engine compartment seal, and powder-coated engine tins.
This sale will include original owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, an air pump, a car cover, a clean title, and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.
The seller would like you to know: “Welcome to the auction of my '77 911S, an incredible survivor example. After almost ten years of ownership the car to this day still amazes me every time I pull the cover off. When you get it out on the open road, WOW!!!!! that open exhaust is sweet. Being born into and spending my entire life in the Porsche service/ performance business, I'm as particular as anyone when it comes to Porsche ownership. I configured this car to represent what I believe a Porsche 911 should be- minimalistic, lightweight, loud and very clean. After much debate and with some upcoming life changes, its time to let her go. Throughout the auction, I'll be available for any questions. The car can be viewed anytime im located 20 miles east of Philadelphia"

Really nicely done car--I have a similar one, a white '85 coupe, modified to my tastes, that I will be moving along shortly, so I'm interested to see what a lightly modded car brings.
2 minute driving video just uploaded
Makes me want keep!!!!!! So much fun this car is
Thanks for the explanation @Polar911
The attention to detail in the preparation and presentation of this car is exceptional . The G body 911's are finally getting the respect they deserve . Lightweight and nimble ,the driving experience is pure 911. IMO the price has a long way to go !
@khan654 mid year 911s had magnesium case NOT magnesium studs. if the thermal reactors were removed (which generated extreme heat) early in life these engines survived quiet well. as seen here. the 1977 started dilavar studs, they have shinny finish which resisted corrosion.(a major contributor for failure) i have not replaced head studs. i have double and triple checked the torque thru out ownership. i have a video if you want to see showing that the studs are perfectly intact.

Correct me if I am wrong..

I saw polar911 and had to think for a minute...then it hit me, your dad is THE guy in the area for Porsche care. I remember him showing me a few of your project cars years ago and they all looked great. A blue 996 4s comes to mind. Best of luck, if this is your personal car I can only imagine it's spectacular.

beautifully preserved, very original, and near flawless....... thats how i would describe this porsche. this is not a restored 911, this is a true survivor !!!! sure iv made some cosmetic enhancements but retaining her integrity was always first priority. if it needed to go back to stock, i could do it before the end of this auction......
today im going to add paint meter photos, and take a spirited driving video to show just how well this car performs. if anyone wants to see anything else please let me know. as far as damages go there really isn't anything to speak of other than some random stone chips. i tried to take the up close paint reading photos with notable chips in the shot.
@Lunatic_Fringe
they are really not as tight as they look. im not slender myself. 6'2 215lb.
How tight are the seats on this? I am by no means a skinny fella.

Just realized no photos underside of sunroof. Uploading now. When sunroof was out I replaced liner in black. Thought it would stay cleaner and also match the original 2tone Sun visors. The sliding roof liner not available separately Had to buy the whole thing. I’ll throw the liner in the spares pile.
seats were custom made by stefan at GTS classics
@Damaho912, @JB630 thank you for the kind words. the headlights are nolden. below is website. i will be submitting detailed documentation of everything that was done to the car.
