Up for auction is this 1977 Porsche 911 Turbo Carrera finished in Platinum Metallic over a Dark Brown leather interior. One of 727 U.S. market examples built for the 1977 model year, this 930 is among the last of the original 3.0L 911 Turbo Carreras. It came factory optioned with desirable leather Sport Seats and has spent much of its life in Nevada with the oldest records dating back to 1990 at 60k miles. Said to have undergone a comprehensive restoration, this early 911 Turbo is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Virginia with just over 105k miles showing on the odometer.
This Turbo has been completely refinished in its original special-order color of Platinum Metallic (W1). Clear paint protection film has been applied over the front bumper, hood, and fenders, and the seller describes the car to be in excellent cosmetic condition, detailed images are provided in the gallery. One of the most iconic designs of the air-cooled era, the original 930 is characterized by its distinctive wide fenders, black stone guards, rubber front air dam, and Whale Tail rear spoiler. Other details include pop-out rear quarter windows, chrome window moldings, headlight washers, and front fog lights. This Turbo rides on factory 16” Fuchs alloy wheels dressed in Bridgestone Potenza tires dated from 2015.
Inside, this 930 showcases a Dark Brown leather (93) interior with matching carpets, factory optional leather Sport Seats, and an electrically operated sunroof. The 1977 model year also saw the introduction of a boost gauge added to the central tachometer. An aftermarket radio has been installed and the seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.
Representing the final generation of the original 911 Turbo Carrera, this 930 is powered by a 3.0L turbocharged flat-six engine that sends up to 245 HP to the rear wheels by way of a 4-speed manual transmission. Updates for the 1977 model year include power-assisted brakes and twin fuel pumps as well as a one-piece front anti-roll bar and two-piece springs plates to allow for ride height adjustment. Service records are said to be available dating from 1990-2015.
This sale will include a set of keys, original owner's manuals, a spare tire, a Porsche Production Specifications Certificate, and a clean title. An early example of one of Porsche's most iconic sports cars, this fully restored 1977 Turbo Carrera would make a fine complement to any air-cooled Porsche collection.

@Vt1981 Correct, the only proof of work to the engine is the way it is running and visual inspections. No leaks, or problems with idle and drive. Also, a lot of services up until 2015.

Hi, like everyone else I am enamored by the car and color combo but am i understanding clearly that there is no proof of an engine refresh in the stack of paperwork you have currently?
@bodamane I'm not sure where exactly the restoration was performed. We are still chasing down the complete history of the car through it's owners. Previous services performed at Rennsport Reno.

@bodamane From our understanding, all that is missing is the receipt for the restoration. It has gone through a beautiful restoration for body and engine. The engine has no leaks whatsoever and runs like a dream.
As far as a compression test, we will be more than happy to help you schedule one at a local shop if you would like. I imagine it will come back with stellar results.
