Up for auction is this 1977 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 Coupe finished in Grand Prix White over a unique black leatherette interior with Beige Tartan seat inserts. The Carrera 3.0 holds a special place in Porsche history due to its limited production number and larger 3.0L engine which was a direct development of the 2.8 RSR racing engine of the early ’70s. This numbers-matching example was originally delivered new in Germany before making its way to the US years ago. It is now being offered in highly original condition and makes the perfect addition to any collection. It currently shows 25k Kilometers or 15k Miles on the odometer and is being offered out of New York.
The Grand Prix White finish on this Carrera is said to be in great condition with detailed images provided in the photo gallery. The seller notes that the bottom rocker panels have been touched up to correct road going wear. Exterior features include yellow Euro-style headlights and fog light covers along with a factory rear window wiper, whale tail spoiler and color-matched Fuchs wheels that wear older Kumho Ecsta tires.
Inside, you will find a unique black leatherette interior that features rare sport seats with Beige Tartan insets. The interior is said to remain in great original condition with all electronics and accessories in working order. Additional factory options include an electric sunroof, 2 loud speakers in shelf below rear window, center console, exterior mirror on the right, and a Blaupunkt Koln head unit.
Power comes from a numbers-matching 930/02 3.0L air-cooled- flat-six engine that is rated at approximately 200 HP and 188 lb-ft of torque. The engine is said be in great running condition with a major service carried out in 2015 that included all new plugs, new points and a fluid/filter change. The car is said to be currently up-to-date with an oil and filter change provided just this week.
The sale of this eye-catching Carrera 3.0 will include two keys, all books, service records, maintenance book, and a copy of the certificate of authenticity.

I owned a 3.0 years ago. Very unique 911 that is a true Carrera. Slotted between the standard 911 and the Turbo.
Mileage is obviously not accurate. Low mileage has to be documented in a 911. Too easy to swap the speedometer. These 911’s were misunderstood here in the States, but appreciated in Europe. As noted, wing and rear valence are incorrect. Be interesting to see where this sells.

Photo 58 (of the transmission) is an indication on the history of the car. One should never purchase a car especially a used car without a PPI. The removal and replacement of a front wheel bearing (left side preferable) would be a good indicator on the history. Cut apart and inspect the old bearing and “now you know the rest of the story”.
@motorclassic pretty certain that’s a photograph of a ‘76 in the manual which makes sense as it would be rushed production for the pics to be of a ‘77. Either way wear and tear is not consistent with mileage.

Agree with you guys. A good driver car but not concourse. A grey market car and those odometers connection come loose. Lol
I’m not positive but I’m pretty certain the 300km speedometer is incorrect for a ‘77. If I recall it should be a 260kmph which will explain the very low mileage that’s inconsistent with the crustiness that’s under the car. Wrong wing for ‘77. Nice car though.
White is an appealing color regardless of what badge in on the hood.
In the case of a 1977, 911 w/just 15,000 miles on it creates interesting assumptions. A good Porsche Mechanic with a lot of expertise, and knowledge, not to mention the right tools in his box could sort this all out. If you look beyond this, “It currently shows 25k Kilometers or 15k Miles on the odometer and is being offered out of New York”. The photos are interesting to look close at..
