In 1978, Chevrolet released the 25th Anniversary Edition of the Corvette finished in a special two-tone Charcoal Silver and Silver Metallic exterior with 25th Anniversary badging, aluminum wheels, and dual sport mirrors. This particular example was sold new at Newman Chevrolet of Cedarburg, Wisconsin in 1978, and remained with the original owner before being sold to the second owner in Nebraska in 2002. It was displayed at the American Muscle Car Museum in Melbourne, Florida for some years before being acquired by the seller in 2019. During their ownership, the seller claims to have replaced most of the engine hoses and belts, installed new brake pads, repairing the air conditioning system, ceramic coated the exterior, and mounted 4 new BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Showing just under 3k documented miles on the odometer, this 25th Anniversary Corvette is now being offered at auction by its seller out of Arizona.
The exterior is finished in a special two-tone paint combination of Silver Metallic (13U) and Charcoal Metallic (07M) bisected by a pinstripe. The exterior is said to have received a full ceramic coating, and the seller reports that the passenger side fender and hood have been refinished under previous ownership. Detailed images are provided in the gallery. Equipment includes pop-up headlights, paint-matched side sport mirrors, fender vents, removable t-top roof panels, and 25th Anniversary badging on the hood and trunk lid. The factory 15” wheels are dressed in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires installed in 2019.
The interior is upholstered in red vinyl with bucket seats and a matching dashboard, steering wheel, door panels, and carpeting. Amenities include power steering, air conditioning, Corvette-branded floor mats, an 8-track stereo, and a digital clock. The seller notes the 8-track, power antenna, and digital clock are non-functional, the seatbelt light remains present after buckling, and the air temperature slide switch sticks.
This Corvette is equipped with an L48 350ci V8 with a four-barrel carburetor factory rated at 185 HP and 280 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 3-speed automatic transmission with a top speed of 123 MPH. Maintenance performed under current ownership includes replacement of engine hoses and belts, installation of a new distributor cap and rotor, a new starter, and new engine mounts, as well as a new air conditioner compressor and a carburetor rebuild.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, the original sales invoice, and some service records.

I want to share this car with another Corvette lover. She is truly a work of art. Obviously, I haven’t driven her a lot. Over the last 3+ years I have become increasingly disabled, and unfortunately long drives have become very difficult for me. Spent more time looking at her than driving her. Many times I would just hang out in the garage with a cocktail or two, listening to classic rock. She needs to be driven! Many years and many miles left in her!
I am so embarrassed with myself that as a corvette owner for over 40 years I did not catch the remark of someone asking the owner to use a paint meter on a fiberglass car. Thank you PCarmarket for pointing this out, And yes, fiberglass does NOT rust

@Whyme Hello. Hoping to shed some light that may be helpful. From our experience, you cannot use a paint meter on a fiberglass car, only metal. If possible, seeing the car in person prior to bidding or sending someone on your behalf may be helpful.

@Roballen85044 Paint depth readings can be done via a simple paint meter. Can get an inexpensive one on Amazon for 20 buck. You just press it on parts of every individual panel and snap a pic. Larger panels just measure in different areas. It’ll give a solid idea of what’s been painted vs. factory.
The serial numbers I’m not 100% sure where it’s imprinted on the engine and/or tranny.

Very nice car and appears well kept. See some normal flaws as to be expected. would be a big concern if it didn’t have flaws :-)
Any chance you have the ability to take paint meter readings? I might have been resprayed in more areas. Honestly I don’t care if it has or hasn’t but wanting to know it possible painting because of rust/damage/cracking/peeling etc… if I move forward I would highly likely have the entire car repainted anyways and repair a few areas.
Serial numbers matching on motor etc??
