We are pleased to offer this 1978 Ferrari 308 GTS finished in Rosso Corsa over a beige leather interior. Designed as Ferrari’s flagship V8 mid-engine sports car to succeed the Dino model, the 308 was introduced in 1975 before the Targa top GTS version was first offered in 1977. Highlighting a coveted 5-speed gated manual shifter and Daytona seats, this 1978 example has been kept in great driving order with maintenance including a timing belt service in 2014 and a major overhaul in 2017 at a cost of nearly $12k. It is now being offered by its seller out of Colorado with approximately 57k miles showing on the odometer.
This 308 showcases Pininfarina-designed bodywork finished in the iconic shade of Rosso Corsa. The seller reports the paint to be in good overall condition except for some chips on the front bumper and other minor cosmetic imperfections (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). Some distinctive features of the 308 include its louvered rear quarter windows, side air intakes, and pop-up headlights This GTS model also highlights a removable black Targa top and factory 14” 5-spoke alloy wheels.
The cabin is upholstered with black and beige leather as well as highly desirable Daytona style seats. An Alpine head unit has been installed and the interior is described to be otherwise original and in excellent condition with some mild age-appropriate wear.
The mid-mounted Tipo F106AB 2.9 L V8 engine features four twin-choke Weber carburetors and an output of approximately 240 HP. A 5-speed manual transaxle with a gated dog-leg shifter drives the rear wheels, and other mechanical features include independent double-wishbone suspension, vented disc brakes, and rack and pinion steering. Included invoices show some noteworthy maintenance including a new fuel pump in 2012, new timing belts in 2014, and a major overhaul in 2017 from Scuderia Rampante at a cost of nearly $12k. During this time over 69 hours of labor were invested, and the following items were addressed:
This sale will include a clean title. If you have been in search of a vintage Italian sports car, this iconic Ferrari 308 GTS offers a perfect opportunity.

@Charlie911SC What appears to be scratches is compound. I could rub it off with my fingers.
@Charlie911SC There is bubbling in photo 15. It is very obvious in the photo thanks to the bright sun, hardly noticeable in our warehouse but you can feel it with a fingernail.
Photo 25- we have looked at the headlights from every angle and do not see a misalignment. There is some slight play in the the housing on the passenger side. I pulled up on it and it had some movement. None on the drivers side.

Picture 15 the right light appears to need alignment- scratches can be seen. Please comment. Picture 25 there seems to be bubbling of the paint where the pillar meets the fender and picture 28 appears the rear bonnet is not fitting properly. Any signs of rust? Any knowledge accidents, collision repairs , paint meter reading? Does ownership history and / or service records come with the car?thank you
Timing belts will need to be done. You don't want to roll the dice by not doing them. Love the Daytona seats.
