We are pleased to offer this outstanding 1978 Porsche 911 Outlaw for auction. Completed in March of 2018, this uncompromising Outlaw received a no-expense spared build performed by Compass Racing. Sporting a show-quality custom finish and a robust 993 3.6L engine, this Outlaw is as exciting to look at as it is to drive.
This Outlaw is finished in an incredibly deep and glossy coat of black paint. The glasss-out professional respray was performed at Best of Show Coach Works in Vista, CA to a tune of over $25k. Unique exterior features include RS style rear light clusters, an RS style rear bumper and a one-of-a kind custom rear spoiler. This outlaw rides on new 7.5” and 9” Braid Fuchs wheels which have been finished in bronze Seracote along with the rest of the exterior trim and brightwork.
Inside, this 911 has been outfitted with a bespoke tobacco and black leather interior. Some noteworthy features include: custom RS door panels with red pulls, full RS carpeting, vintage-style floor mats, a vintage Prototipo steering wheel, and a custom Wevo shifter with a “golf ball” billet knob. GTS Classics was commissioned to build these incredible tobacco leather seats with black lightweight fiberglass shells. The dials were professionally redone by North Hollywood Speedometer with a custom orange central tachometer. The seller notes that the A/C was deleted for performance reasons, however, the heat remains functional along with all other electrical components, gauges and accessories.
This outlaw carries an air-cooled 3.6L flat-six engine derived from a 993 Carrera. Approximately 300 HP is sent to the rear wheels by way of a smooth 915 5-speed manual transmission with custom 924 Turbo synchros. A specialized Magnaflow exhaust system has been installed and the oil-cooler has been relocated to the front to allow for the RS style rear bumper. The following mechanical work was performed to ensure maximum performance and reliability:
The seller notes that a new Optima battery has been installed along with four new Yokohama tires. The 993 engine is said to bear approximately 40k miles while the 1978 donor chassis shows nearly 225k miles on the odometer. Stated to be in excellent driving condition, this outlaw is just waiting to be enjoyed on the open road.
Garnering attention wherever it goes, this beautifully executed outlaw has been invited to several high-profile car meetings including the Luftgekuhlt shows in both 2018 and 2019. This 911 is the perfect choice for a Porsche enthusiast looking to make a statement with a totally unique car.
The sale of this outlaw will include records as well as a clear title. Fast, loud and breathtaking in every sense of the word, this beautifully executed outlaw is unlike any other 911 on the road. Do not miss your chance to own this one-of-a kind custom built 3.6 outlaw.

Is this registered currently in CA?
@Alexgio17 It is a custom bumper that was made to route air directly at newly added oil cooler.
We have heard from a few Porsche clients that it would definitely be possible to add A/C to this build but we are not familiar with the difficulty of doing so. The guys at California Porsche Restoration i'm sure could do the retrofit!
@digit3 It is a decal above the paint and clear coat that is removable.
Great question!
@jaynar I was looking at another non AC 911 (I'm in Houston) and was considering this retrofit kit.

Might be worth looking into.
I personally ended up picking up a 993, so didn't follow through with this purchase..
Awesome Car! Good Luck with the Auction!

May I be so inquisItive as to ask who made those front seats . Please
My 78 SC was parked a few feet away from this beauty at the Luftgekuhlt held at Universal studios this past year. I can attest the car is well done with great attention to detail. I'm curious though as to how the owner gets this smogged in California?
Love this car! Saw it and spoke to the owner at Luft. If only I had the money to purchase.
Is that "Compass Racing" script on the rear lid under the clear coat?
Ditto on the a/c. Texas
How difficult would it be to add AC? I live in CA and AZ. Need it.
