Built from 1972 to 2000, the Fiat 126 had one of the longest-running single-generation production runs in international automotive history. Born as a replacement for the Fiat 500, the 126 became an icon itself. Finished in red over gray leather, this 1979 Fiat 126 P4 Collector Series was imported from Germany, underwent a restoration, and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.

This Sergio Sartorelli-designed Fiat is finished in red and rides on stock rims which come dressed in Effecta 135/80R12 tires from 2004. As part of the restoration, the car was repainted and the seller notes some fading on the driver’s side mirror and an indentation on the passenger side rear trim. Inside, the cabin features gray leather-trimmed seating with red piping for all four passengers. Despite sharing a wheelbase with its Fiat 500 predecessor, the 126 featured a larger interior thanks to relocating the starter from the top of the engine to the side which enabled engineers to move the rear seat 10 cm rearward while simultaneously extending the roof for increased headroom.

Powering this Fiat 126 is a rear-mounted 2-cylinder engine with 23 HP and 29 lb.-ft of torque. A 4-speed manual transmission drives the rear wheels.  A recent 125-point inspection was performed by the selling dealer.
