Factory equipped with Sport Seats, a limited-slip differential, and a rare sunroof delete option, this 1979 Porsche 911 Turbo was acquired by the current owner from Rusnak Porsche of Pasadena in 1998 and underwent a full Slant Nose-style body conversion by a dealer in Las Vegas under prior ownership. In 2023, a custom engine rebuild was performed by Lance Aspesi at DutchStone Global of California including a 3.4-liter displacement upgrade with Mahle pistons and cylinders as well as Garrett twin turbochargers, custom intercoolers, twin-plug ignition, 993 RS cams, custom 962-style headers, a carbon fiber fan shroud, and more. With approximately 500 miles driven on the rebuilt engine and 138k miles showing on the odometer, this custom 930 is now being offered for auction by its longtime owner out of California.
This 930 has been modified with Slant Nose-style bodywork including flat front fenders with louvers and pop-up headlamps as well as boxed rocker panels and straked side air intakes. The seller states the car was refinished in the current white color during the body conversion, and it was originally finished in the rare Paint to Sample color of Azure Blue (522) according to the paint code in the door jamb and the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. Equipment includes a front valence with a chin spoiler and integrated fog lights, a factory sunroof delete roof panel, custom dual tailpipes, upgraded red Brembo brake calipers, a Tea Tray rear spoiler, and 18” HRE three-piece 993 Turbo-style wheels. The car rides on Toyo Proxes R888 tires from 2015 measuring 235/40 in front and 285/30 in the rear. The seller notes the roof and parts of the hood show minor crinkles in the finish and some stone chips are present on the front bumper. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The black leather interior features a pair of reupholstered factory Sport Seats along with a three-spoke sport steering wheel, a wooden Porsche-crested gear knob, drilled aluminum pedals, black carpet floor mats with embroidered Porsche logos, a Blaupunkt Stockholm 400DAB stereo, upgraded Kicker speakers, and a fire extinguisher mounted below the driver’s seat. A Kicker subwoofer box is also mounted loose behind the front seats. Other accessories include power windows and an electrically adjustable passenger side mirror. The seller notes the rear parcel shelf was replaced with an aftermarket plastic piece and all gauges are fully functional apart from the heater.
Power comes from an air-cooled flat-six engine that was rebuilt by Lance Aspesi at DutchStone Global in 2023 and features a 3.4-liter displacement upgrade with Mahle 7:1 pistons and cylinders as well as twin-plug ported and polished heads, 993 RS cams, a 993 distributor, dual MSD ignition 6AL ignition modules, new factory fuel rails, a Weldon fuel pump, twin Garrett T2/T3 ball bearing turbochargers, custom intercoolers, and Innovative wastegates. The engine was also decorated with silver powder coating and a carbon fiber fan shroud. The cooling system features two electric fan-assisted 944 oil coolers in front with braided stainless steel lines. The rear wheels are driven by a 4-speed manual transmission which was rebuilt with a replacement case and paired with an upgraded clutch. Other upgrades include Weltmeister sway bars, Bilstein sport shocks, 33mm torsion bars, and 4-piston Brembo brakes. The seller states approximately 500 miles have been driven on the rebuilt engine and service records are included in the sale along with some original engine parts.

@Zagie I’m guessing the paint was done in 1982 when the conversion was done. The original owner wanted a Slantnose in 1979 and wasn’t available from the factory in 79 at the time. When the factory started doing Slantnoses in 1981 He had ordered the all steel conversion kit from Porsche (Germany) and had it shipped to his dealer in Vegas. All of the parts are German, including the mechanism and motors that lift the light buckets. Conversion looks like it was factory done. There is not a single trace of the original blue paint to be found anywhere.

@luis.seneriz I don’t see any reason it couldn’t be driven there. I like your style! It hasn’t been put on a Dyno yet, but the engine builder assumes it making between 500-550 hp.
@Zagie Since the car has been equipped with 962 style custom headers, there are no heater boxes to send heat to the cab anymore. The heat was sacrificed for performance.

I like the car. Any reason why it couldn’t be driven all the way to Houston in its current shape. I’m at 650 horsepower on my 03 996 turbo and yes this was another California car that I bought here las year in April. I flew and drove it 1698 miles straight home canonball run style. Any ideas about horsepower?
Aside from the heater not working is there any other things not operating?

@Adamsadd Thanks for asking. It does not have air conditioning. The car has not been put on a Dyno since the motor is still at the end of the break- in period. The car is assumed to make 510 - 550 hp.
