Now available for auction is this 1979 Porsche 930 Turbo Coupe finished in Silver Metallic. Specified with equipment for the U.S. market, this 1979 example also came factory optioned with a limited-slip differential and a striking Light Red leather interior. It was acquired by the seller in February of 2019 and has since undergone a major service including new ignition components, seals, fluids, filters, belts, and more. As previously listed on PCARMARKET, this stunning '79 Turbo is being offered for auction by its seller out of California with just over 41k miles showing on the odometer.
This 930 is finished in Silver Metallic and sports wide fenders protected by black stone guards in the rear. Additional equipment includes a rubber front air dam, Tea Tray rear spoiler, headlight washers, rear window wiper, and front fog lights. The seller notes that the lower front valence has been previously refinished, additional images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings. The factory 16" Fuchs wheels come dressed in a set of Dunlop Direzza tires.
Inside, you will find a vibrant Light Red leather interior with a matching dashboard and carpeting. The factory Blaupunkt radio remains in place and optional features include an electric exterior mirror (right) as well as an electrically operated sunroof. The driver seat exhibits light signs of wear and the upholstery on the sun visors has begun to sag.
This 930 is equipped with a turbocharged and intercooled 3.3L flat-six engine paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox and factory optioned limited-slip differential, sending as much as 265 HP and 291 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels. Compared with the standard 911 of the time, the Turbo features firmer shock absorbers, larger rear torsion bars, and upgraded brakes derived from the 917 race car. Earlier in 2021, a major service was carried out in preparation for sale including new valve cover gaskets, fluids, filters, spark plugs, belts, a distributor cap and rotor, fuel cap seal, axle boots, oil return tubes, transmission shaft seal, and adjustment of the clutch cable. A corresponding invoice is provided in the gallery. The seller notes that the exhaust system does not comply with California state emissions requirements.

Maybe I missed it, but I do not see any mention of the entire car being repainted in the description - the PPI mentions “car has been repainted - job is ok” - Please provide more detail.

Hi, this is an interesting car but a google search shows it didn’t sell at RM Sothebys or Bonhams auctions or (as you note) the last Pcar auction. What’s the story with it? Some disclosure may help actually moving this car…thanks

Nice 930! When was it ast listed on PCAR and what was results? So it appears it had a major service since - anything else relevant? Just wondering why the relatively quick turnaround
