The 1979 Vespa P200E is a pivotal model in scooter history, renowned for its reliability and stylish design. With a 198cc two-stroke engine and distinctive features including a monocoque body design and a front apron, it set the standard for urban mobility and scooter culture. Today, a sought-after vintage collectible, the P200E remains a testament to Vespa's enduring influence on the world of two-wheelers. This 1979 example comes finished in red with an added sidecar and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.

This Vespa has been refinished in red with a matching California Sidecar. Details include a classic round headlight, polished dual rearview mirrors, chrome trim with matching model designations, and a rear luggage rack. “Vespa” lettering also adorns the sidecar, along with brake lights and a tinted visor. Black upholstery spans the Vespa’s dual seat and backrest, as well as the sidecar’s bucket seat. The driver is situated with a single analog gauge as well as handlebar-mounted controls. The seller adds that a pair of new red leather helmets will accompany the sale.

Power is derived from a 198cc two-cylinder air-cooled engine featuring a single carburetor. As much as 12.5 HP is sent to the rear wheel through a 4-speed manual transmission, allowing for a top speed of 68 MPH. Features include coil springs with hydraulic shock absorbers along with drum brakes. The seller adds that the previous owner meticulously maintained this scooter at their auto shop, and a host of service records are provided in the gallery.

This sale will include a clean title and service documentation.

The seller would like you to know: “The California brand sidecar is the most desirable, this will turn heads everywhere and the red leather helmets are new.”
