This 1980 Porsche 911SC Coupe is a custom safari-style build featuring tubular bumpers, off-road lights, a Rennline roof rack, custom bucket seats, a billet short shifter, a MOMO steering wheel, Boxster disc brakes, a lifted suspension with oversized sway bards, and much more. The car derives power from a turbocharged 3.3-liter flat-six motor that was custom-built and blueprinted by Patrick Motorsports featuring billet 993 sport cams, B&B performance headers, a K27-7200 turbocharger, a 964 Turbo intercooler, a blowoff valve, and a custom intake and exhaust. Having undergone several refurbishments and upgrades since it was purchased by the seller in 2023, this custom 911SC safari car is now being offered for auction out of New Hampshire.

This 911SC is finished in a metallic brown color with custom Matchbox-inspired wide format printed graphics installed under current ownership. Equipment includes custom tubular front and rear bumpers with a front skid plate, a ducktail rear spoiler, black powder-coated headlight buckets and trim rings, Rally Armor mudflaps, a rally light pod with four 6” PIAA lights, Hella horns, and a Rennline roof rack. The seller notes the bumpers, wheels, headlights, and engine compartment were refinished under their ownership. The car rides on 16” Fuchs wheels dressed in General Grabber AT/X tires measuring 215/65 all around. Some stone chips are present on the front end as well as a blemish on the white part of the hood graphics. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin has been fitted with a pair of custom bucket seats and RS-style door panels along with Rennline accessories including floorboards, Track Mats, pedals, a dashboard, ignition bezel, and an Exact Shift billet short-throw shifter. Other accessories include a MOMO steering wheel, power windows, an electric sunroof, a heater, and a Bluetooth stereo.

Sourced from a 1978 Porsche 930 Turbo, the air-cooled 3.3-liter flat-six engine was custom-built and blueprinted by Patrick Motorsports. It features 97mm Mahle pistons, billet 993 sport cams, a K27-7200 turbocharger, a 964 Turbo (965) intercooler, a Euro fuel head, and B&B performance headers. The rear wheels are driven through a 4-speed manual transaxle and stopping comes from 4-wheels Boxster disc brakes. The suspension is lifted using torsion bar keyways and includes oversized sway bars with adjustable drop links and a Rennline three-point strut tower brace. All oil cooler lines were replaced in 2022 and both rear axles were rebuilt before the seller’s purchase in 2023. Since their purchase, the seller has installed a custom air intake, a blowoff valve, and a custom exhaust. The seller adds that invoices are available for various parts and services along with a letter from Patrick Motorsports discussing the engine and ownership history.

This sale will include a spare tire, service records, and a New Hampshire registration,

The seller would like you to know: “This car is an absolute blast to drive and draws a crowd wherever it goes.  You would never know it has oversized tires with its incredible road manners both on and off the highway. There is just enough patina to prove this isn't some trailer queen and I wouldn't hesitate to get in and drive anywhere in the country. The graphics were fully redone in 2023 along with refinishing the bumpers, wheels, and skid plates.  During that time, the front directionals were moved inside the headlight buckets before also being refinished in black, while a new blow-off valve, custom intake, and exhaust were added.”

Yeah, too low for a 930 in good working order. Hard to value the "safari" aspect, but even at breakeven, this is a six-figure car easily.

  • Cknaak 1 month, 3 weeksago

The motor alone is worth at least half the current bid.

@gpmotors , I have several copies of orevious titles, but NH is a no title state. I have a current registration in my name.

  • gpmotors (registered bidder) 1 month, 3 weeksago

Title status shows "registration". Is there no title with the car?

@andrewvolk @andrewvolk, The Heat boxes are all connected, the car does produce enough heat to drive in any weather and has a switch for a fan on the dash.

@RattleandSnap , Almost everything works as it should and is well sorted. No surprises. 2 things: The odometer is currently not working (plastic gear inside, common) and the high beam switch sticks (also common). That's it.

  • RattleandSnap (registered bidder) 1 month, 3 weeksago

@leclerc75 had a friend introduce me to the site as I had been talking about a safari style 911. This one looks great and checks most of the boxes. Does everything work on the car, gauges, lights wipers etc.? Thank you

  • mleclerc75 (seller) 1 month, 3 weeksago

@Msftgm @Msftgm, I am not sure about the regulations in CA regarding cars with engines not original to the car.

  • Msftgm (registered bidder) 1 month, 3 weeksago

Hi, does the seller (or anyone else) know if this car is capable of passing CA emissions? Thanks!

Super excited to see where this goes, seller is a great and honest guy. The car is an absolute beast, I had the privilege of putting a lot of seat time in this car and it does not disappoint.

Good luck with your sale Mike!

@Scottwerks @Scottwerks, the car uses the original oil cooler up front. It has been moved slightly forward to accommodate the larger tires. All lines have been updated in the past several years.

  • Scottwerks 1 month, 4 weeksago

What have you done for engine oil coolers?
