Now available for auction is this 1980 Porsche 911SC Coupe finished in Light Blue Metallic.  This SC was fitted with custom Slant Nose style bodywork during the mid-1980s and is equipped with a bored-out 3.4L flat-six turbocharged engine sending power to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission.  Other upgrades include vintage BBS wheels, 930 Turbo brake calipers, Recaro seats, a Moto-Lita steering wheel, and more.  Recently serviced by Porsche of North Houston and accompanied by records dating back to the 1980s, this custom 911SC Slant Nose is now being offered by its seller out of Texas.

This Coupe came factory finished in Light Blue Metallic (301) and was fitted with wide Turbo-style Slant Nose steel bodywork during the mid-1980s including flat front fenders with pop-up headlights, a custom front valence, and a Tea Tray rear spoiler.  The finish is described to be in good condition overall with few blemishes, detailed images are provided in the gallery.  The car rides on a set of vintage 15” BBS E52 wheels dressed in period-style Michelin tires.

The black interior has been appointed with a set of upgraded Recaro sport seats as well as a leather-wrapped Moto-Lita steering wheel.  The sound system has also been enhanced with upgraded speakers and a modern Kenwood head unit.  The seller reports all gauges and accessories to be working properly with the A/C recently serviced by Porsche of North Houston. The seller reports the mileage displayed on the odometer to be accurate.

Power comes from an air-cooled flat-six engine which has been bored out to a 3.4L displacement and paired with a BorgWarner turbocharger and top-mount intercooler. The engine uses a 3.6L crankshaft, 76.4mm stroke, and a 97mm bore. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed 915 manual gearbox and stopping power is provided by upgraded 930-spec brakes. A full service and oil change were recently completed by Porsche of North Houston and the seller reports that maintenance records are available dating back to the 1980s.

This sale will include owner's manuals, service records, and a clean title.

@sportscarguy3 thank you for your question. Yes this a 911SC with a Turbocharged 3.4L (930 Turbo) and a Slant Nose conversion completed by Norris Rayburn in the 1980's. I have driven almost 2000 miles in the last six months and usually take this Porsche Get to together in Houston. This car is very powerful and drives like a dream. Happy to answer any specific questions you may have. Thanks again.

Maybe you guys can help me out because I’m confused about this car even
after reading through the information .
    So this is a 1980 911 SC ?
An SC, modifed with turbo, flat nose front end, modified turbo motor and tea tray spoiler ! ?
    Thanks for the input

@Pskafish Thank You!! Everything (Odometer, Brakes, suspensions, AC) works absolutely fine. I recently did a service (AC and Oil change) and AC blows cold. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the car. I say that with confidence because I recently drove from (Houston to San Antonio and back, about 400 miles) on a single day with no issues. I took a video while I drove which I will upload shortly for your reference. Thanks again for your questions.

  • Pskafish 2 years, 3 monthsago

Hi. Nice build. I have a few questions. What is the condition of the brakes and suspension, does the AC work well (I’m in southwest Florida) and is there anything wrong with the car or that which needs to be done. Thanks.

  • Izzyblue (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

@Moby242 thank you for the bid.

Took the kid on a drive the other night. Uploaded the driving video.

  • Izzyblue (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

@JCC0016 also just want to share some additional info. You probably already know this. 1980 915 has the stronger higher tooth count gears lke the 1986 915. In other words the 1980 Porsche 915 transmission is the last evolution in the best 915 just like a 1986 which was the last year for the 915. At 78 and 79 915 is aluminum like the 1980 but the 1980 has improvements over the 1979 915 and has a good clutch.

  • Izzyblue (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

@JCC0016 Boost is .8 bar, compression ratio is 8.0:1. Compression ratio with those pistons and cylinders and that longer stroke crankshaft is about 8.0 to 1. Because the stroke is longer the compression ratio is higher. Also the eight displacement is increased and I sent you the details of calculation of the exact displacement. Hope that answers your question.

  • Izzyblue (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

@delanodp thank you for your question. I answered the piston questions earlier they are 3.3 L pistons and cylinders, factory 930 turbo. It has a Solyndra Cole air filter on the suction side of the turbo on the top side of the engine. It has a 3.3 L intake manifold from a 930. Because it is EFI it doesn't have the big huge metal air cleaner housing.

  • delanodp 2 years, 3 monthsago

I don't see an airbox or CAI. Can you post a pic or describe how you are filtering intake air?

  • Izzyblue (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

@sculptedmetal thank you for question. I just got Boxster 25th anniversary edition. I have a Turbo S getting delivered in April and I have a Macan GTS which is parked next to this car which you can see in my walk around video. I also bought a 911S in June. I have clocked almost 2000 miles since I have owned this. It's just too many and I have decided to let this baby go to make some space.

  • sculptedmetal (registered bidder) 2 years, 3 monthsago

    @Izzyblue
Seems like a very interesting car! I recognize the photos and am curious why you are selling after buying it only last July on BxT?

  • JCC0016 2 years, 3 monthsago

@Izzyblue Thanks for the info. Did it retain the original P/Cs or any change to the compression ratio? What boost is it running? Thanks again.

  • Moby242 2 years, 3 monthsago

Bid in the amount of $25,000

  • Izzyblue (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

@JCC0016 thank you for your question. Its a Turbo 3.3 bore with a 3.6L crankshaft. The engine is 76.4 mm stroke with a 97 mm bore. If you plug in these numbers in the displacement calculator www.spicerparts.com it will show you the output of 3387.5 cc. The 915 five-speed manual transaxle was rebuilt with new synchronizers, a Centerforce clutch, and a CMS billet side cover. Hope that answers your question

  • JCC0016 2 years, 3 monthsago

Hi. As a former owner of an SC that I turbocharged myself, I am curious to know more details on the engine build? Is it based off the 3L or 3.3L platform and internals? What boost is it running and has the 915 been rebuilt or reinforced? Thanks!

  • Izzyblue (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

    @Tangerine997 No, it is not.

  • Tangerine997 (registered bidder) 2 years, 3 monthsago

@Izzyblue Was this the same car on BAT this past week?

  • Izzyblue (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

    Hello everyone,
