This 1981 Porsche 911SC Coupe was acquired by the owner about 10 years ago and subjected to a custom backdate-style restoration with no expense spared on high-end equipment. The car features metal fender flares, Signal Orange paintwork, a custom RS-style leather interior, new brakes, reworked suspension, an overhauled 5-speed gearbox, and a rebuilt engine showcasing extensive performance upgrades. This uncompromising long-hood 911 hot rod is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York.
During the restoration, this Coupe is said to have been completely disassembled and stripped to bare metal. It was modified with steel fender flares, fiberglass RS-style bumpers, classic pop-out rear quarter windows, a 964 decklid/spoiler, and a backdated nose section with an RSR-style center-fill hood. The exterior was finished in the early 1970s Porsche color of Signal Orange and included a new windshield and weather stripping. Other equipment includes modern projector-style headlights, aftermarket black sport mirrors, hood tie-downs, and aftermarket Fuchs wheels measuring 17”x8” in front and 17”x9” in the rear with Michelin Pilot Sport tires (4613).
The cabin has been redone and outfitted with lightweight RS carpeting, a custom rear seat delete, a new OEM headliner, a Racemark steering wheel, and a pair of leather MonteCarlo seats from GTS Classics. The seller adds that the sunroof was serviced with new guides and bushings.
Based on the stock 3.0-liter block, the engine in this 911SC has been rebuilt and upgraded with Nickies 100mm cylinders and 10.5:1 JE pistons, Dougherty Racing DC40 camshafts and rockers, an Electromotive XDI Direct ignition system, a PMO 46mm carburetor kit, and a stainless-steel exhaust with headers. The engine also features a polished crankshaft, ARP bolts, a Carrera oil pump, Glyco bearings, Raceware head studs, new valves, bronze guides, RS rocker shaft seals, oil-fed chain tensioners, Elephant Racing oil lines, and an RSR front-mounted oil cooler.
Power is sent to the rear wheels from a rebuilt 5-speed manual gearbox with a RennShift shifter, Stomski shift coupler, Centerforce dual friction clutch kit, and Patrick Motorsports lightweight flywheel. The braking system has been rebuilt and upgraded with Zimmerman drilled rotors, Hawk HPS pads, and braided stainless steel lines. @userabc123 I never had it on a Dyno . But SOP Hp is more than you will ever need on the street .

The build was supposed to have a Roll bar that
6 point harness would be attached to .
That's why they were left out .
One switch operated the Rear Spoiler manually
The Other is a Blank for further use .

Beautiful car - would never fly in California with the smog laws but it would be worth registering in another state.
@Coldbru The Front Fenders are also stock sc fenders rolled out for tire clearance and the lowered suspension .

@pm2207 The SC had a Title with a S on it Signifying Salvage when the car was Bought 10 yrs ago .
When the Owner Registered the Car in NY , The title was delivered to Owner Clean & Clear .
Carfax says salvage branded title. PCAR says clear title. Please clarify.
