This 1982 BMW E30 323i came factory-finished in Alpine White and was originally specified for the European market. It has been part of a large private collection in California and features a host of upgrades including M3 subframes, suspension, and brakes, a limited-slip differential, stainless-steel exhaust, Epsilon alloy wheels, and a freshly rebuilt 3.5-liter straight-six engine by Bimmerheads of California. This tastefully modified E30 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Washington.

This E30 is finished in Alpine White with black body moldings and mirrors, polished bumpers, dual stainless-steel tailpipes, and a black front chin spoiler. Other equipment includes a front valence with integrated fog lights, a rear fender-mounted antenna, chrome-framed kidney grilles, a manual slide/tilt sunroof, and aftermarket Epsilon three-piece wheels. The seller states the tires were replaced within the last 300 miles and the exterior remains in excellent overall condition apart from a few minor imperfections including a small ding on the left front fender. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The black vinyl interior features a pair of factory Recaro sport seats with patterned grey cloth inserts and matching door panels. Accessories include a four-spoke Hartge steering wheel, manual window cranks, electric mirrors, a heated rear window, a digital clock, an aftermarket Alpine stereo, and auxiliary gauges mounted in the lower center console. The seller notes some cracks are represent on the dashboard and the cabin is otherwise in very good original condition. All gauges and accessories remain fully functional.

This 323i was recently fitted with a replacement straight-six engine which was rebuilt and upgraded to a 3.5-liter displacement within the last 600 miles by Bimmerheads of California. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. An upgraded stainless-steel exhaust system has been installed and the subframes, brakes, and suspension components were derived from an E30 M3. The seller states that the car was driven sparingly as part of the owner’s collection and was recently serviced with a coolant flush as well as an oil and filter change.

This sale will include a toolkit, some documentation, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “Take a very cool Euro 323i, mix in a 3.5-liter beast of a motor built by Bimmerheads, throw front and rear subframes, suspension, and brakes from an E30 M3, stainless exhaust and you've got something that will absolutely SMOKE an E30 M3... I do mean SMOKE IT! Great car, really well set up, and fun like hell! Happy bidding.”

I've seen this car at our local Cars & Coffee before. The owner definitely knows a thing or two on how to build a proper BMW hotrod. Such a neat car! Euro bumpers, cloth interior, and manual cranking windows makes such a nice spec, especially in my favorite Alpine White! Whoever gets it will not be disappointed I can promise you that!

@Yuro no, the driver, me, observed traffic laws . 1 st through 4th breifly, down to 3rd. Down to second and back to third. The gearbox is butter smooth. Ill shut up now.....

Watching the vid, I have to say, the gearing or maybe the shifting, seems all wonky. Would be great to be able to see the tach in the video. Are you skipping a lot of gears? It seems to go from crazy high first gear revs to bogging down in many of the shifts. I'm just curious. If there's a reason for the strange sounds, I'd like to know if they're from the driver or from an odd choice of gearing on the car. Not a lot of detail on the ratios. Thanks.

@tstamm I have taken paint meter readings for you. All of the car with the exception of the hood reads between 6.5 and about 8 microns. Looking at the front hood really carefully it would appear that it did receive paint. Meter photos have been uploaded. I'll add the readings now, may take a while before they are posted

@tstamm ... it certainly appears to be...I haven't found a need to take a paint meter to it but, can. I personally washed, waxed and polished the car, it is really straight and rust free. Honest car.

A email question was posed, I wanted be a bit more clear on the lump that was installed in this 323. It is a M30/b35 from a early 90's 7 series. Bimmerheads performed all the machine work.
