Up for auction is this 1982 Mercedes-Benz C126 380SEC finished in Silver Blue Metallic over a blue Nappa leather interior.  The first Mercedes coupe derived from the S-Class platform, the C126 SEC was produced from 1981-1991 and remains well regarded for its impeccable build quality and distinctive pillarless window design. Equipped with a 3.8L V8 engine paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission, this 1982 380SEC shows to have been well maintained throughout the years and is now being offered for auction out of New York with just over 55k miles on the odometer.

This stately grand tourer is finished in Silver Blue Metallic (930) with contrasting silver lower body cladding.  The passenger side door and front fender are suspected to have been previously refinished, additional images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.  With all the windows rolled down, the B-pillars of the SEC disappear providing an open and airy driving experience.  This example retains its factory 14” Bundt light-alloy wheels which are currently mounted with Hankook tires.

Inside, this SEC features a handsome blue Nappa leather interior (232A) with matching blue carpets and decorative wood trim.  The cabin appears to have been well preserved while retaining its original Becker Grand Prix cassette radio.  Additional factory equipment includes an electric sunroof, cruise control, an electrically adjustable passenger-side mirror, illuminated sun visors, a foldable front armrest, automatic air conditioning, and thermal insulating glass.  The seller notes that the A/C ventilation remains functional but does not blow cold at this time.

This C126 is equipped with an M117 3.8L V8 fuel-injected engine that develops up to 155 HP and 196 lb.-ft of torque.  The rear wheels are driven by way of a 4-speed 4G-Tronic automatic gearbox.  A fluid service is said to have been recently carried out and the seller reports this SEC to run, drive, and shift smoothly.

Accompanied by a clean title, this luxurious and stylish first-generation S-Class coupe awaits its next caretaker.
