We are pleased to present this 1982 Mercedes-Benz R107 380SL finished in China Blue over a Dark Blue interior. Produced from 1971-1989 as the sole roadster model in Mercedes’ lineup, the R107 also became the first SL to offer a V8 engine. This 1982 example comes equipped with a removable painted hardtop, 14″ Bundt wheels, fog lights, and cruise control. With just over 63k miles showing on the odometer, this 380SL is now being offered for auction by its owner out of New Jersey.
This SL comes finished in China Blue with a dark blue convertible soft top and removable painted hardtop. Other features include North American specification quad headlamps, chrome trim and moldings, front fog lights, and 14” Bundt wheels. The car was previously refinished in its original color and the seller reports it has always been stored in a climate-controlled garage when not in use, additional photos can be found in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The factory wheels are dressed in Hankook Kinergy tires that are said to have been mounted within the last 1k miles.
This cabin is trimmed in Dark Blue upholstery with matching door panels and carpeting. Amenities include decorative zebrano wood trim, cruise control, power windows, power door locks, an aftermarket stereo, and a basic A/C system. The interior is described to be nicely preserved with all gauges and accessories remaining fully functional.
Power comes from an M116 3.8L V8 engine which sends up to 155 HP and 196 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 4-speed automatic transmission. The R107 was factory equipped with power steering, a fully independent suspension, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. CARFAX shows a service to have been carried out in 2015 at 60,974 miles and the seller reports no outstanding maintenance items at this time.

Was the Timing chain problem addressed on this car? Mercedes would do it for free if you asked for it. It was a Bulletin, not a Recall. GL
