This 911SC comes finished in the rare factory shade of Wine Red Metallic.  Some paint touchups have been performed throughout the exterior, and scratches and imperfections are noted on the hood, passenger-side door, and driver-side rear quarter panel.  The seller notes that the hood was also previously refinished, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.  The 16” Fuchs wheels feature colored center crests, polished lips, and come dressed in a set of Michelin Pilot Exalto tires dated from 2015.

Inside, this 911SC highlights a black interior with an upgraded Alpine Bluetooth stereo and speakers. The seats have been reupholstered and a small crack is depicted on the upper dashboard near the defroster vent. The seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be working properly.

This 911SC carries an air-cooled 3.0L flat-six engine that generates approximately 180 HP and 175 lb.-ft of torque.  The rear wheels are driven by a 5-speed manual transmission.  The engine and gearbox are said to have been rebuilt under prior ownership within the last 500 miles by a shop in Newport Beach, California.  A fresh oil and filter service has been recently completed in preparation for sale and some images of the undercarriage are provided in the gallery.

So for clarification.. The entire front hood has been painted and the rest of the paint is original? Thanks?

@PCARMARKET_MODERATOR is there anything Pcarmarket is willing to do since I was out bid by someone who weaseled their way out of it? potentially reducing the fee price to help make up the difference?

  • PCARMARKET_MODERATOR 2 years, 5 monthsago

The winning bid was retracted from the auction of this 911SC following the discovery of paintwork on the front hood which was previously undisclosed. As a result, the listing description has been updated and the car is being offered once again in Deal Tank.

What happened here. Confused, did it not meet the reserve? did previous buyer back out? looks like all comments and bids after mine have been deleted?

@live2drive_porsche No issues whatsoever on both. Boise is a banana belt of the Northwest so it get hot here and the AC performed well and the sunroof closes smooth and tight, the gasket around it is in good shape as well. Thanks for the question.

  • live2drive_porsche (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

Great looking coupe! Are there any issues with the A/C or sunroof?

  • Qidaho2021 (seller) 2 years, 5 monthsago

@Gretz Hello Gretz, thank you for the generous comments, it feels like I am driving a piece of art sometimes. I am very glad you asked the mileage questions, because in the description is says the rebuild was 500 miles ago, which is not correct. The brakes were done 500 miles ago and the rebuild was 140,004. My apologies I did not catch that sooner. Thank you very much for bringing that up.

  • Gretz 2 years, 5 monthsago

I own a near twin of this car. I have to say it's been totally reliable and a blast to drive. I get comments everywhere from people who love the car. Other cars have come and gone but this one will stay for the long haul.

This car in particular looks to have been well cared for. Especially after reviewing the receipts and seeing that this one appears to have had a full rebuild, although I couldn't ascertain the date/mileage on the invoice. Regardless, with replaced head studs and a full rebuild, this engine should be trouble free for a very long time. Looks like the syncros in the transmission have also been replaced, which is excellent. I'm trying to get my good buddy to bid on this!

@IGB911 I have the original clutch pedal if you would like it. The 2nd owner thought it made it easier to sift in and out of 1st gear. Maybe his left leg was shorter or something.

  • IGB911 (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

thank you very much for the quick response! What is going on with the clutch pedal?

  • Qidaho2021 (seller) 2 years, 5 monthsago

@IGB911 Thank you for the question. 1. I have owned it for about 4 months. The history is that is it was driven by an elderly gent in Newport Beach basically on the weekends. His son sold the car to me as his age was starting to become an issue. 2. No body work done except what I mentioned earlier. 3. I have not performed a leak down test.

  • IGB911 (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

beautiful car! I have a few questions: How long have you owned the car and what do you know about its history? It looks like there has only been 3k miles but on it in the last 13 years and only a few miles in the last year. Is this accurate? Also, are you aware of any bodywork done to the car other than the touch up mentioned? Finally, have you done a leak down test? Many thanks in advance.

The 911SC was improved for the model years 81-83. Best years to buy. The 911 SC was powered by a 3.0-liter flat engine, the output of which was increased slightly over the years.- model year 1978-79 - 3.0 liters, 180 hp
    - model year 1980 - 3.0 liters, 188 hp
    - model year 1981-83 - 3.0 liters,
204 hp. Non sunroof models are very rare and highly sought after and are more valuable. I have owned an 82SC coupe for a little over 15yrs. Timing chain upgrades a must for reliability, pop off valve for the air intake, upgrade the factory front oil cooler, make sure front and rear ac condensers are clean and front ac condenser blower has a tight seal and not cracked. Add a center ac vent by removing the bow tie and vent mounted underneath ash tray even with R134 freon you will need cool in traffic with an upgraded Sanden or Denso ac compressor, and cold back out on the highway as more air cools the rear condenser at 75mph speeds. Make sure sunroof drains are working properly and not clogged. Castrol GTX
CLASSIC, just came out not long ago with high Zinc content in 20w/50w. The more you drive these cars the more reliable they are. 200k plus miles on orig motors is common. They are out there, keep up the mtc and you will be fine.

  • Somer (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

@Somer I think I saw it answered when I found the receipts .

  • Somer (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

@Qidaho2021 Thanks for the quick response, I’ll check them out once they’re added.

Hiring a 5 year old is definitely cheaper than buying a lift, haha!

  • Qidaho2021 (seller) 2 years, 5 monthsago

@airkewldfan I have the title in hand. I noticed that too. Thanks for asking.

  • Qidaho2021 (seller) 2 years, 5 monthsago

@ACSlater I just downloaded about 20 pics of the undercarriage. I had to hire a 5 years old to slide under to take the pics but you should see them soon.

  • airkewldfan (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

Hey there! Love the car! This may be an dumb question., I must ask about the title “in transit”? So do you have the title in hand? Thanks!

  • Qidaho2021 (seller) 2 years, 5 monthsago

Hello, I am Jim the owner, I wanted to make an unsolicited comment here: Technically this is a 2 owner California car. I have put less than 100 miles on it after I concluded that I really need a 4-wheel drive Porsche. Admittingly, I am a recent Porsche enthusiast and didn't realize I could have purchased a 4-wheel drive Porsche, which is important in Idaho. She drives perfectly and is a blast to drive. I constantly have people complementing me on the car. It is truly a special car. Good bidding and I will try to answer any questions as quickly as possible.

  • Qidaho2021 (seller) 2 years, 5 monthsago

@ACSlater Certainly, I can take pics of all the work done and take a few more shots of the underside. Is there a particular area you would like me to focus on?

  • Qidaho2021 (seller) 2 years, 5 monthsago

@gl21133 Hello, yes I am in Boise, however I leave tomorrow at noon until Sunday evening.

  • gl21133 (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

I'm local (Boise), is this car available for an in-person inspection?

  • gl21133 2 years, 5 monthsago

Bid in the amount of $2,000

  • H2obroker 2 years, 6 monthsago

Bid in the amount of $911

  • ACSlater (registered bidder) 2 years, 6 monthsago

What a great color! Do you have any documentation from the recent engine/trans rebuild? Can you also provide more pictures of the underside?
