We are pleased to present for auction this 1982 Porsche 911 Lightweight R. As with many projects of this kind, the goal was to create an affordable yet quality built outlaw that features both exhilarating performance with show stopping looks. Mission accomplished! The “Lightweight R” was built from the ground up by Synergy Racing out of Danville, VA with race quality parts and focus on its street performance and reliability. This Outlaw is now being offered in excellent condition by a Porsche specialist in Florence, AL.
The Signal Orange paint is stated to be in excellent condition as can be viewed in the photo gallery. The fiberglass RS Ducktail spoiler and an RSR inspired front bumper were installed to a very high level. The R comes with black 16” alloy Fuchs-style wheels that are wrapped in Continental Extreme Contact tires. Bilstein Sport Shocks add to the vehicle’s sinister stance and upgraded handling capabilities.
The interior of this outlaw features leather/Alcantara sport seats, RS lightweight door panels, aluminum accents, Rennline aluminum pedals w/ floorboard, and Schroth seat belts secured onto a Weltmeister belt bar, keeping both driver and passengers safe. Additional details include a streamlined Rennline dash upgrade featuring radio, heat and A/C delete. Once inside, the driver will pilot the R via a Porsche Design MOMO steering wheel chosen to give its driver ultimate control and feedback during those spirited drives. All components of the interior are stated to be in working order.
Power comes from the original numbers matching flat-six engine that has been enhanced to a 3.2L producing approximately 255 HP and delivers power to the rear wheels via a Sachs clutch and 915 5-speed gearbox. This high-performance build features several highly desirable modifications including:
- Aluminum Fly Wheel
- 986 Front Brakes
- Power Slotted Rotors
- Weltmeister Front & Rear Sway Bar (22mm)
- Rear Torsion Bar (29mm)
- Turbo Tie Rods
- Wevo Short Shift Kit
The seller notes that an excellent bill of health was granted by Euroclassics Porsche after a PPI was performed December, 2017. Seller states approximately 1k miles have been added since. A recent service has been completed with new oil, filters, and plugs.

@bli888 Thanks; the Fuchs are 16 x 7 and 16 x 8 -- no rubbing that we have seen or experienced.
What width 16" wheels and tires are on the car? Are there any rubbing as it doesn't look like much clearance under the fenders, especially in the front at full lock and compression. Thanks.
