Now up for auction is this 1982 Porsche 911SC Coupe finished in Rosewood Metallic (Palisander). Sporting IROC-style bumpers, gold-painted Fuchs wheels, and a custom reupholstered interior with Houndstooth pattern seats, this 911SC has been transformed into an outlaw-style hot rod with its proper 3.0L flat-six engine and 5-speed manual gearbox retained.  Currently showing 153k miles on the odometer, this SC is said to have undergone considerable recent maintenance and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.

This SC is finished in Rosewood Metallic with contrasting black headlight bezels, mirrors, and painted IROC-style bumpers.  The entire car is said to have undergone a glass-out respray in the current shade and the paint is said to exhibit some minor chips and imperfections throughout.   The windshield has been newly replaced along with the rear window seal, sunroof seals, and sunroof cable. Bolts were added in place of a previously installed aftermarket spoiler on the rear decklid. The suspension has been lowered and this 911SC rides on a set of 15” 7x8 Fuchs-style wheels with gold-painted centers and polished outer lips.

The cabin has been redone with a new headliner, custom beige carpeting, and reupholstered seats with Houndstooth-pattern inserts.  The brown dashboard and door panels have also been redone along with the parcel shelf, interior quarters, door tops, dashboard, door pockets, and center console. A custom Tactico Racing Atelier steering wheel has been installed along with an aftermarket radio which is currently disconnected.  The sunroof is said to have been recently serviced.

This 911SC carries an air-cooled 3.0L flat-six engine paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox that sends as much as 180 HP to the rear wheels.  A muffler bypass has been installed providing an aggressive sound to match the car’s looks.  Recent service carried out by the current owner since their purchase in 2019 includes a new battery, shifter bushings, a rebuilt CDI box, and new valve cover gaskets.

This sale will include a clean title.  With its outlaw-style looks, custom interior, and roaring flat-six engine, this 911SC may just be the air-cooled Porsche you've been looking for.

Anyone, aside from the seller, hoping to check back and see, "Oops I meant to bid $18,500." ?

  • ECCRalph (seller) 3 yearsago

@spdracer35 I think they just did a poor job of matching the color. For the record, I’m partial to brown 911’s, but I do think that the shade of brown they came up with looks good on the car.

  • spdracer35 (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

In the video it was mentioned that the car was repainted in a shade similar to the factory color, is the exact shade of brown known?

@f1skibum both were really rough and tossed.

  • f1skibum (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Do you have original steering wheel and removed spoiler?

  • ECCRalph (seller) 3 yearsago

Couple of questions about leak down and compression numbers. I don’t have those numbers, but I encourage anyone that’s really interested to schedule a PPI. There are a couple local shops that can perform one. For obvious reasons, I won’t make the recommendation on one, but google can lead you in the right direction. Thanks!

  • ECCRalph (seller) 3 yearsago

    @BoysOwnGarage haven’t done a leak down test.

  • ECCRalph (seller) 3 yearsago

@Raconne2 Sorry, I don’t have any of those numbers. All I can tell you is that it runs great.

  • ECCRalph (seller) 3 yearsago

@Matthew77 outside of what is stated in the auction details, nothing else has been done.

  • BoysOwnGarage (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Keen to bid but would love to know about leak down test/engine condition

  • Raconne2 (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Do you have any indication of the health of the engine (compression numbers/leak down test)?

  • Matthew77 (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

    Any major engine work done?

  • ECCRalph (seller) 3 yearsago

@Raconne2 we don’t have emissions testing in Florida. Not sure about the cat. My best guess is that the car would require some work to get it to pass emissions in any state that requires it. Also, there is not a smog pump on the car.

  • Raconne2 (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

I’m not sure what the requirements are for emissions in Florida, but I would need the car to pass a smog test. Is the cat still operational in the car (and has the car passed emissions recently)?

  • ECCRalph (seller) 3 yearsago

@Apex153 rosewood metallic is the original color. Take a look at picture 70. That’s the original sticker showing pallisandermetallic (rosewood metallic for us) as the color. Color code 474 9 3. Thanks!

  • Apex153 (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

@ECCRalph - Thanks much for the quick reply! I failed to clarify: Is Rosewood Metallic the original color? If not, do you know what was? Thanks again.

  • ECCRalph (seller) 3 yearsago

@Apex153 thanks! The color combo gets a lot of compliments. I don’t have any records of valve adjustments, or any other work aside from what I’ve had done.

  • Apex153 (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Good Day- Captivating color combo! Aside from the valve cover gaskets, is there any record of valve adjustments/top end service in recent history? Thanks in advance for any additional info and GLWA.

  • ECCRalph (seller) 3 yearsago

Just realized that the ad states the car has had a windows out respray. That’s not accurate. There is evidence of paint on the windshield seal, as well as on the qtr window seals.

  • ECCRalph (seller) 3 yearsago

@Roma I’ve gone through the car, and it is 100% rust free. Thanks!

  • Roma (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Can the Seller plz comment on any rust? Thx
