Now available is this 1982 Porsche 911SC Targa presented in Platinum Gray over a black interior.  This 5-speed example was purchased out of Colorado by its seller in Texas during 2018 with a comprehensive history of service including a Carrera chain tensioner upgrade, partial engine rebuild, and braking system overhaul.  It has since undergone further refurbishment including an oil service, new ignition switch, and speedometer repair.  This well-sorted 1982 example is now being offered by its seller in Texas with approximately 63k miles showing on the odometer.

This Targa is said to have been completely refinished in Platinum Gray at some point during previous ownership.  Cosmetic imperfections include some chips on the front end, a cracked front valance, and a scratch under the driver’s side corner marker (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery).  Some noteworthy exterior features include a removable roof panel and black Targa bar, a wraparound glass rear window, front fog lights, a front spoiler, and 16” Fuchs wheels mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport all-season tires in front and Michelin Pilot Exalto tires at the rear.

The black leather interior is said to be in great shape with some wear indicated on the driver’s seat. Features include black leather seats, a rear window defroster, power-operated windows, and a period Blaupunkt cassette radio.  The speedometer is said to have been recently repaired along with the installation of a new ignition lock assembly.  All gauges and accessories are said to be working properly, however, the A/C does not blow cold at this time.

This SC is equipped with an air-cooled 3.0 L flat-six engine featuring a Carrera chain tensioner upgrade installed in 2018.   The engine is also said to have been partially rebuilt in 2018, although CARFAX shows this as “Engine Replaced” which is claimed to be an error.  Approximately 180 HP and 175 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox.  The brakes were overhauled with rebuilt front calipers and new hoses in 2018, and more recently in 2019, this 911 received an idle adjustment, a new oil hose, and a full oil service.  Some leaks are reported and images of the underbody are provided in the photo gallery.

This sale will include 1 key, the original books and spare tire, a stamped warranty voucher, a Blaupunkt radio manual, some service records, and a clean title.

    Hi, here is a cold start and walk around video. This is from when the car was in storage, so there isn't much of a drive and I had some gimbal issues so I had to splice two together. I realize it is not the best but there was an ask for a video so I wanted to at least share what I have. Also was not able to get it posted to the auction, but this is a direct YouTube link.

    @BLUE190 Hi @BLUE190,
    The clutch is solid - firm, high release point, shifts well for a 915. I've had the car serviced at the same air-cooled shop as my other cars since purchasing it. I did a PPI which checked all mechanicals, hoses, even compression then I repaired anything that came up mechanically except for 2 things:
    1) When I purchased the car it arrived with undisclosed minor oil leaks from the hoses and main seal plate. I replaced all of the hoses that could be replaced but the car will still drop a few tablespoons of oil after being driven, then it will stop. I've had the oil changed twice at Jones Autoworks in San Antonio, and I've personally put 2 quarts of oil in it over the 4k miles I've put on it.

    2) The airconditioner blows strong, but does not blow cold :). I've looked extensively into this and plan to completely replace and upgrade the system should I keep the car. I've determined that mainly because of the old fittings, a full upgrade is really the only way to go. Mechanically it's fine, just will not hold freon.

    I'll get a video and the best undercarriage photo's I can up, I had thought they were so sorry about that.
