Initially conceived as a potential replacement for the 911 as Porsche’s flagship sports car, the 928 is a luxurious and powerful V8-powered grand tourer. This 1982 example is finished in Kiln Red Metallic over brown leather upholstery. It comes equipped with a fuel-injected 4.5-liter V8 engine, a 3-speed automatic transaxle, an optional limited-slip differential, power-adjustable front seats, air conditioning, cruise control, an electric sunroof, and a rear window wiper. Impeccably well preserved with just over 7k miles on the odometer, this 928 is now being offered for auction out of New York.
Finished in Kiln Red Metallic (Ziegelrot Metallic, 811), the exterior features pop-up headlights, headlamp washers, integrated fog lights, body-colored side moldings, power mirrors, an electric sunroof, an automatic antenna, a rear window wiper, and a dual-tipped exhaust outlet. The car rides on factory 16” phone dial alloy wheels dressed in Yokohama AS530 tires from 2009. The seller notes the car’s paint remains in very good original condition, apart from a touched-up scratch on the rear quarter panel and some small paint chips on the bottoms of the doors. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The 2+2 interior is appointed with brown leather upholstery and matching carpets. Accessories include power-adjustable front seats, power windows, a four-spoke black leather steering wheel, Porsche-branded floor mats, an analog clock, air conditioning, cruise control, and a Volkswagen SC 800 cassette stereo. Some light wear is noted on the driver’s seat bolster, and all gauges and electronics are said to be fully functional.
The fuel-injected 4.5-liter V8 delivers up to 231 HP and 265 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 3-speed automatic transaxle and an optional limited-slip differential. The car is equipped with power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, four-wheel independent suspension, and power-assisted four-wheel vented disc brakes. There is no service documentation available.
This sale will include an owner’s manual, Porsche warranty and maintenance booklet, and a clean title.

Need to know about accidents, owners, service records, etc.
@palmerd27 Thank you for your interest. All of the accessories are currently operational on this car.
Note to seller:
Please confirm that EVERYTHING ON THE CAR WORKS as it should.
AC, doors open and lock remotely, hatch, all wipers, headlight washers, all of the (too many) seat controls, climate controls, side mirrors, power steering, etc, etc.
I ask because I recently bought a 1989 928 with only 27k miles for $10k, Great paint and interior, but almost NOTHING works on it.
No power steering, no AC, temperature control is only OFF or ON, rear wiper not working. Seat controls not working, hatch not opening , window and headlight washers not working. Hmmm
Love the car and the LOW MILES.
I have two 928 S4's but will be most pleased to upgrade to this'un.
928 were built to outsell the much more common 911's
They do not get the appreciation they deserve.
