This 1982 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ43 is said to have been imported to the U.S. from South Africa before the seller’s acquisition. Restored in 2018, this FJ has been refinished in Nordic Blue over a reupholstered grey vinyl interior. It has also undergone notable service items including a rear drive shaft rebuild, U-joints & slip yoke replacements, and more. Showing approximately 150k kilometers (~93k miles) on the odometer, this Land Cruiser is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Georgia.
The FJ43 offers a medium-length wheelbase compared to its FJ40 sibling. This example has been refinished in its current shade of Nordic Blue complemented with a replacement tan soft top. Equipment includes roll-up side and rear top openings, a fold-down windshield, steel bumpers, aftermarket headlights, and a rear-mounted spare tire. It rides on white-finished 15” wheels mounted with 31×10.50″ GT Radial Adventuro M/T tires. Additional images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin has been reupholstered with grey vinyl and offers a replacement 60/40 split front bench along with inward-facing rear jump seats. Details include grey vinyl door panels, matching floor covers with unique stitching, and a black three-spoke steering wheel. Equipment includes roll-up windows, a Pioneer CD stereo, a glovebox, and a central bench-mounted cupholder. All accessories are reported to be working properly, although the fuel gauge is currently inoperable.
Power is provided by a 4.2-liter 2F inline-six engine factory rated at 135 HP and 210 lb.-ft of torque. The rear or all four wheels are driven by way of a 4-speed manual transmission and dual-range transfer case. The seller adds that the manually locking front hubs were rebuilt and the tie rods & various bushings were replaced under previous ownership. Additionally, service items in 2018 are said to include the rear driveshaft rebuilt, the U-joints & slip yoke replaced, and the muffler replaced. An inspection dated 2018 indicates a bend in the left-front frame horn and prior welding was performed to address a crack.
