Available for auction at no reserve is the chassis of a 1983 Porsche 911SC Coupe.  Finished in the classic Porsche color of Bali Blue, this final-year SC was built from the ground up as a custom restoration before sustaining collision damage to the passenger rear quarter.  It was modified with a slicktop roof panel, center-fill hood, pop-out quarter windows, and a fender-mounted oil cooler on the driver’s side.  Professionally disassembled and accompanied by a clean title, this 911SC chassis is now being offered by its seller out of New York.

The car had been restored and finished in Bali Blue (6412), a historic Porsche color seen on the final 356 models as well as the earliest 911s.  A slicktop sunroof-delete roof panel was fitted along with a center-fill hood. The rear quarter windows were also converted to pop-outs. The collision damage occurred to the rear passenger-side quarter and some of the rear crash panel was cut away to remove the drivetrain.

The cabin has been stripped almost entirely, save for the custom leather-wrapped window pillars and GTS Classic bucket seat trimmed in red and black leather with a basketweave insert.  The fuel tank remains fitted along with the oil crossover lines and custom fender-mounted oil cooler on the driver’s side.

Offered with a clean title, this beautifully prepared 911SC chassis offers the perfect basis for a full custom build. The chassis is offered as-is and will need to be trailered or transported off the seller's property at the buyer's expense (dolly not included).

    @2mAn Hello and I appreciate the question- I’m a reasonable person and will work with the winning bidder so that it’s convenient for the both of us. It’s not a desperation moment where it Has To Go but it can’t linger for a season either. Thank you for the inquiry and look forward to your bid.

    How much time will you allow the winner to sort out pick-up? I have a friend in Pottstown PA who likely can do it, but is a bit busy to go grab it "this weekend" for example

    @SoyRacer thanks for the explanation.

    @BigWaveDave908 Hello, fair question- It’s best answered with the saying “some must die so that others may live”. The original build was a fairly heavy six figures and the quality throughout was of the highest caliber. The drivetrain is set aside for a future build, the windows/frames went on another build, the suspension was utilized on a current build, the wiring went on a different car etc. etc. It’s been properly parted out and the time savings alone were worthwhile. Thank you for the inquiry and I welcome any additional questions which may help someone that’s considering a bid.

    Curious. Where’s the rest of it?

    Thanks for your speedy reply. Will be watching this one.

    @Kraftwerk Hello. Yes, it’s a wonderful colour. The original build was on an unmolested chassis that was checked to be true when the roof was replaced (sunroof deleted the right way). It absolutely can be saved and a Cellette bench will be crucial in that endeavor. The vehicle was under an umbrella policy with an agreed amount so it wasn’t treated as a “car” by the insurance company. I hope this helps, let me know if I can be of assistance in any way.

    Lovely Blue , these are tough cars. Was the finished shell ever put on a Cellette bench to check alignment? How does the title remain 'clean' ? Seems like Insurance would write the whole thing off, if they were notified. Anyway, I am watching this auction and not far away...
