Being auctioned is this very well-presented Sienna Red Metallic 1983 Porsche 944 with 5-Speed Manual Transmission. Acquired by the selling dealer as a trade-in for another Porsche, this 944 has covered just 43,403 miles since new.
As described by the seller, the exterior of this car is in remarkable condition and retains all of its original paint with exception of a minor repair to the lower spoiler (record in gallery). To be expected, there are some rock chips on the front and minor cracking in the original stone guards as shown in the gallery photos. The wheels are in excellent condition and are wearing a set of older Pirelli P7000 tires with no dry rot and plenty of tread life.
The seller states that the vehicle is in excellent running and driving condition. It retains its original 2.5 liter inline 4-cylinder engine producing 143 horsepower and 5-speed manual transaxle. A special note was made to point out that the pop-up headlights work as they should. Records show that the timing belt was replaced in 2003, however, less than 400 miles have been covered since. More recently, in 2017 the timing belt was inspected, adjusted and found to be in excellent condition with no dry-rot. In addition, a full fluid service including brake flush was carried out.
The interior is a true time capsule that is completely intact and well-preserved. The black seats with cloth inserts are in beautiful original condition with no damage or stains. The original instruments all function and are in excellent aesthetic condition. The seller states that the A/C blows ice cold and that the heat is also in excellent working order.
Accompanying the sale of this car are receipts of all worked performed, a clean Carfax, spare wheel, jack, books and original window sticker.

not sure if reserve is met but someone is going to get a cool car here. these cloth inserts are so cool, saw them on a 911 targa recently. So rare and nice to see them in such original condition.

@akellerdrew I just think Magnus took note of the 944 market shift and decided to take full advantage of it. He is a smart guy. I don't think he is directly correlated with the increase of popularity, although he definitely adds to the flame!
Magnus Walker is bring these back. if I had this id def personalize it and make it an outlaw. feel like these are only going to go up in value over next few years and that we can thank Magnus for it.

@tomt69 We agree the car is gorgeous.. we did see that invoice for broken odometer however this is not a TMU car as the service stamps and all invoices show the consistent mileage throughout its 36 year old life
The car looks beautiful, and I wish the seller well in the auction. One point worth noting: The maintenance records indicate that an "inoperative odometer" was found in 1992, and that "customer declined repair at this time". I didn't see any subsequent entry or invoice for its repair. Therefore, the mileage should be considered "unknown", rather than what is given. As to the previous comment about the underside, compared to my early 944 (April '82 production) with 61k miles, this one looks similar in terms of cleanliness and corrosion. It's worth noting that no sign of active oil seepage is visible under the front main seal or oil pan, although both areas could have been cleaned up by the seller.
These cars are catching the eye of collectors being the 1st Gen of the 944 series and adopting the 924 race car look. Improvents were made in suspension and handling among other things for the 1984 production year. This car looks nice, but the underside looks questionable to me with evidence of oil leaks, and other fluids. Not as clean underneath as a low mileage transaxle car should look like, but for its age it represents well. Remembervto set aside a couple grand just in case for maintenance update. Looks great!
