This 1983 Toyota Pickup comes finished in red over black upholstery and features a 5-speed manual transmission paired with its 2.4-liter inline-four and dual-range transfer case. Benefitting from an extensive cosmetic and mechanical restoration completed approximately 10 years ago, this 1983 Toyota has also been customized with tri-color graphics, a lift kit, 16” Ion wheels, stainless steel exhaust, and more. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
Under previous ownership, this pickup underwent a complete frame-off restoration including rust repairs, a fiberglass bed, and replacement fenders. The body was refinished in its current shade of red and includes paint-matched fender flares, a chrome grille, chrome headlight bezels, and chrome bumpers along with tinted glass, a sliding rear window, a spray-in bedliner, and a bed mat. The suspension has been raised with an Old Man Emu lift kit and the truck rides on 16” Ion alloy wheels dressed in Nitto Trail Grappler M/T tires. Additional images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin features black upholstery including Corbeau Moab bucket seats. Features include a three-spoke steering wheel, cup holders, air conditioning, a locking center console, Pioneer speakers, and a RetroSound stereo with Bluetooth connectivity.
Power is derived from a 2.4-liter 22R inline-four, and the seller states that the cylinder head and engine block were machined as part of the restoration along with .020” overbored cylinders. The rear or all four wheels are driven through a 5-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Performance features include an aluminum radiator, a Weber carburetor, a stainless-steel exhaust header, and Bilstein 5125 shock absorbers. A California emissions test was reportedly passed in September 2023, although the truck’s air injection and exhaust gas recirculation systems have been removed. The seller adds that a binder with build specifications will accompany the sale.
This sale will include a branded title, owner’s manuals, spare keys, sales literature, a spare tire, and a binder with build specifications. The CARFAX report shows Exceeds Mechanical Limits entries.
