This 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa was delivered new in Charlotte, North Carolina, finished in a metallic blue Paint to Sample exterior color over a black and grey Special Leather interior. It came factory-equipped with an optional limited-slip differential, Sport Seats, front and rear spoilers, sport shock absorbers, and 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels. The car is said to have remained garage-kept under the care of its original owner in Florida until the seller’s acquisition. Showing approximately 42k miles on the odometer, this highly optioned Targa is now being offered for auction out of Massachusetts.
This 911 is finished in a metallic blue Paint to Sample color and features optional front and rear spoilers, a black Targa bar, and a removable folding roof panel. Other equipment includes a headlamp washer system, integrated front fog lights, black stone guard decals, heated power mirrors, an electric rear window defroster, an automatic power antenna, and 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels. The car rides on Continental tires from 2017 and the CARFAX report shows minor front-end damage in 2016. The seller states there are no visual indications of paintwork. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a full CARFAX report.
The cabin is appointed with black and grey Special Leather upholstery including optional front Sport Seats. The car also features air conditioning, automatic heating control, fold-down rear seats, a three-spoke MOMO steering wheel, aftermarket center console auxiliary gauges, and an aftermarket stereo with Kicker door speakers. The door panel storage pockets are missing, and some signs of wear are present throughout the interior.
An air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 207 HP and 192 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle and an optional limited-slip differential. The car comes equipped with optional sport shock absorbers, four-wheel independent suspension, front and rear stabilizer bars, rack and pinion steering, and power-assisted four-wheel vented disc brakes.
This sale will include the original window sticker, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, an air pump, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “The vehicle is a one-owner car and stored since new in his garage and has a paint to sample color, the wail tail was installed new at the dealer, and it was serviced by Porsche and local Porsche shop.”

Lapis Blue paint code 932 or 5392 was produced from 1980 thru 1984 on Mercedes SL's... This particular vehicle was ordered paint to sample by the owner of the Porsche store in north Carolina for his kid to match his SL at the time of purchase. Thanks for your comments and questions regarding the paint to sample color. Should you have any more questions please do not hesitate to ask!
Buys let’s and Invoice-Last record-calls the color Lapus Blue. Popular color on 996 and Boxsters. (2000’s)
This car doesn’t seem to have the deep blue/almost black color of Lapus Blue from 2000’s? Wonder if Porsche changed what Lapus Blue was from 1984 to 2000’s? I’m
@samimi ty for the question, and a valid one. On the second line, in the second column of the window sticker you will notice where it says "color to sample". My apologies we uploaded service docs, window sticker and few other documents and they did not show but we just uploaded all docs again and should show shortly! Let me know if you have any other questions
Nice color but how did you determine this is 'paint-to-sample'? What is the color called?
