Now available for auction is this 1984 Porsche 930 Turbo Coupe finished in Guards Red.  One of only 804 Rest of World (RoW) Porsche 930’s built for the 1984 model year, this Turbo was originally specified with equipment for Spain and came from the factory with an optional limited-slip differential and special tan Leather to Sample interior.  In 1984, this example was imported new to the U.S. by Randy Francis (Damerow Ford) of Portland, OR.  It was recently acquired by the seller in Florida where it is now being offered for auction with approximately 15k-miles showing on the odometer.

This Turbo is finished in the traditional shade of Guards Red, and the seller notes the hood, front fenders, and doors to have been previously refinished.  A collection of detailed images is provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.  In addition to its distinctive wide fenders and Tea Tray rear spoiler, this 930 features European side markers and factory optioned yellow front fog lights.  It rides on classic 16” Fuchs wheels featuring anodized silver lips and black painted centers.  These wheels are currently dressed in Michelin Pilot Exalto tires showing date codes from 2020.

Inside, this 930 was specified with a tan Leather to Sample (99) interior.  Optional equipment includes a steering wheel with raised hub, a plain electric mirror (right), a black headliner, an alarm system, air conditioning, a heated & tinted windshield, and an electric sunroof.  Coco floor mats have been added and this Turbo retains its original Blaupunkt radio.

This 930 carries an RoW-spec 3.3L turbocharged flat-six engine rated at 300 HP from the factory.  The rear wheels are driven through a 4-speed manual transmission with a factory optioned limited-slip differential.  A collection of maintenance records is provided for reference in the photo gallery including a $14k invoice for a major service in 2014 at 13,960 miles. This included a new clutch pressure plate and bearing, spark plugs, cam cover gaskets, fluids, filters, belts, a valve adjustment, and the replacements of various hoses, O-rings, and gaskets.

This sale will include service records and a clean Florida title.  A fine example of one of the world's most iconic sports cars, this low-mileage 930 is an excellent choice for any Porsche collector.

@Rushseka Good afternoon everyone, every polish I do on my cars the detailer uses a new pad, what I can make clear is that it has become red, impossible to use again, I don't know if you meant that .I have also left a message to the detailer, if he adds something else I will let you know. Thanks .

  • Rushseka (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

@SGUSA thanks for the paint meter readings - certainly confirms entire front of car has been repainted. Regarding paint used - when car went through paint correction last month they would have ascertained single stage vs. clear coat based on color residue on the polishing pads. Possible to inquire and let us know? Would be nice to have entire car painted in uniform application. Thank you.

@ERLY911 Good morning everyone, I sent to Pcar an emission test report from October 10, 1984 where it is 28 miles, I also enclose a DMV certificate from June 24, 2002 where you can read 4210 miles, and after that you can see in Carfax the odometer history ,I also say that the miles are original and you can see in the condition of the car, the interior looks like it was never used, the best interior I have seen in many years, professional third parties are welcome.

@Rushseka Good morning, in the next few hours I will be uploading photos with paint meter, I really do not know why or when it has been repainted, what I can say is that you do not notice any difference with what the rest of the panels are, what I do it was a paint correction and ceramic work a month ago . thanks

  • Jbwz65 (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

@Rushseka I had the same thought. Thats a lot of paint on a lot of panels for a 15K mile car.

  • ERLY911 (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

Picture 73 shows the odometer reading of 15k. Service records date back to 7/13/2007 showing 8354 miles and the most recent service shows 13960 miles on 10/2014. Is there NHSTA documentation showing the miles or kilometers when the car was imported. The speedometer did not come in MPH from the factory one a car equipped with equipment for Spain (or any other country that measures distance/speed in kilometers. Obviously it is a low mileage Turbo, the question is how low. Thanks.

  • Rushseka (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

Hi - lovely color combo. Any sense why so many panels repainted? Refinished in original single stage paint, or with clear coat added? Thank you

  • SGUSA (seller) 2 years, 11 monthsago

Good morning, the car was imported from the factory in July 1984 and the arrival became effective on August 19 of that same year, the import processing and requirements began, the car marks the actual miles and in miles as you can see In the photo number 73, all the import documentation, services through time are available. The combination really looks incredible , thanks .

  • ERLY911 (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

How is the mileage documented? This would have originally had a speedometer in kilometers and not mileage? Is the speedometer original to the car? Is there a photo showing a date code of the speedometer or documentation showing the kilometers when the car was initially imported? Beautiful Turbo in a very nice color combo.

Good afternoon everyone, this week I will be available to answer any questions or requests you need about the Porsche 930 Turbo 1984, This is a car that has been maintained since its sale in 1984 and I must say that the car to my understanding is in Show condition.
Inside the interior is in mint condition, is a leather to Sample option/99, all buttons work, lights, no signs of sticky, has recently exceeded 15,000 miles, lots of services done frequently, 4 new tires Michelin from the year 2020 . Paint correction and ceramic work done 15 days ago .
Needless to say, professional third parties are welcome to inspect the car. Thank you .
