Now available for auction is this European-market 1984 Porsche 930 slant-nose conversion.  Showcasing steel front fenders, 935-style body components, an upgraded suspension, vintage Etoile wheels and a custom twin-plug 3.3 L turbocharged engine, this 930 remains entirely street legal and in excellent running order.  Distinguished as being one of only 804 European 930's built for the model year, this generously modified Turbo is now being offered by its seller in New Jersey accompanied by a branded title and Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.

During previous ownership this 930 underwent a Slant Nose conversion with steel front fenders, pop-up headlights and boxed rockers.  The car is reported to have been refinished in its factory color of Black during this time and the paint is said to be in good condition with some minor stress cracks and signs of wear (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery).  A custom body kit was also installed which consists of a 935-style front bumper, rear fenders with air vents and an adjustable 935-style rear wing.  Vintage 16”/17” Etoile wheels are also equipped which help to preserve the period-correct look.

Inside, the cabin is upholstered in Beige and Black leather with a custom leather-wrapped full roll cage.  Aftermarket leather racing seats are also installed along with an upgraded Sony stereo, an aftermarket steering wheel, an HKS digital boost controller and Beige instrument dials with a RUF central tachometer.  An extra-large condenser has been installed under the car for improved air conditioning and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be in good working order.

This 930 is equipped with a custom-built 3.3 L turbocharged engine paired with a 4-speed G30 manual gearbox.  Engine upgrades include a twin-plug conversion with Electromotive crank-fire ignition, a K27 turbocharger, Garretson high-flow intercooler, a front-mounted oil cooler, high-flow air intake and B&B stainless steel headers with heater boxes.  The suspension has also been improved with rear coilovers, Weltmeister sway bars, Bilstein HD front shocks and adjustable 935 rear trailing arms.  This Turbo is said to be in good running order with all routine maintenance up to date and a new clutch installed within the last 1k miles.

The sale of this modified 930 will include a set of 2 keys, owner’s books, some maintenance records and the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.  If you have always aspired to the legendary 935 race car, this custom-built European market Turbo offers a very special opportunity.

@pilot73 The service records show a recent clutch and basic maintenance, nothing on an engine rebuild. It does run exceptionally well and leaves no oil, truly a turn key classic.

@pilot73 I have asked the pcar guys to post the video, I sent them 2 along with the initial picture set. It should be posted soon. There is a cold start video, and a warmed up running video.

@flashnine1974 Please google porsche 935 if you are unfamiliar w their appearance in racing garb and their mechanical niceties ! Not for the faint of heart but, oh my!!!

do not like that wing, overkill

  • IAS (seller) 3 years, 6 monthsago

@JNasty Sorry, there are no markings on the rear deck, wing, or front bumper. I'm not sure who made them, but they are fiberglass and thicker than modern style body kits. Definitely not Bodymotion or DP.

@seller - any part numbers or logos debossed to get to origin / maker of body kit?

@bgoldie4 carfax alerts are pointing out the registration dates in which the vehicle was registered as “tmu”. I know the last 2 owners of this 930 and both state the odometer is working properly and the miles are believed to be correct. Unfortunately once a vehicle is registered this way it cannot be undone and will stay with the title indefinitely.

Hey Rick...nice looking vehicle! Can you comment on the Carfax "Alets"?

    Thank you
