Now available at auction is this European-market 1984 Porsche 930 Turbo slant-nose conversion. Fitted with steel fenders, 935-style bodywork, an upgraded suspension, period-correct 3-piece Etoile wheels, and a custom twin-plug 3.3L turbocharged engine, this 930 was built with no expense spared and remains entirely street legal. Previously listed on PCARMARKET, this modified Turbo is now being offered at auction by the seller based in New Jersey accompanied by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.

Under previous ownership, this 930 received a Slant Nose conversion with steel front fenders, a 935 front bumper, RSR- style steel rear fenders with air vents, European boxed rocker panels, and an adjustable 935-style rear wing. The vehicle was said to have been refinished in its factory Black color during the conversion, and the finish is said to remain in good condition with some minor stress cracks in the paint and signs of road-going wear visible. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with the CARFAX report.  This 930 wears vintage 3-piece Etoile wheels, sized 16”x10” in the front and 17”x13” in the rear, mounted with Bridgestone RE71R performance tires.

The interior is upholstered in Black and Beige leather with a custom leather-wrapped full roll cage. Aftermarket leather racing seats have been fitted with Simpson 5-point racing harnesses, in addition to a Luisi steering wheel, an upgraded Sony stereo system with an extra-large custom rear shelf speaker box, an HKS digital boost controller, and Beige instrument dials with a RUF central tachometer. An extra-large air conditioning condenser has been installed under the car for improved air conditioning. The factory odometer reads approximately 51k miles while the true mileage is unknown.

Power is derived from a custom-built 3.3L turbocharged flat-six engine mated to a 4-speed G30 manual transmission. Upgrades to the powerplant include a twin-plug conversion with Electromotive crank-fire ignition, a K27 turbocharger, a Garretson intercooler, a front-mounted oil cooler, a high-flow intake system, and B&B stainless steel headers with heater boxes. The suspension has also been upgraded with rear coilovers, Weltmeister anti-roll bars, Bilstein HD front shocks, and adjustable 935 rear trailing arms. Additional performance upgrades include Allen Johnson brake cooling ducts, 930 front brake calipers installed in the rear,  chrome fuel lines, and custom-painted valve covers. This 930 is said to have received all necessary maintenance, including a new clutch installed in the last 1500 miles.

This sale will include a master key, some maintenance records, and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. The CARFAX report shows a branded title issued for Not Actual Miles by the state of New Jersey in 2013, and the car is currently offered with a clean New York title (mileage exempt).

  • IAS (seller) 2 yearsago

@JNasty Looks that way to us as well.
I’m told the ac needs a recharge and will come with the car when sold. The records that go with are not thick, simple oil change and new clutch. This car has been used very sparingly over the years, just enough to keep it fresh.

    The bat mobile

  • IAS (seller) 2 yearsago

@eurocol There is no smog equipment on this car nor do we have the original import docs. It has a NY title now that reads “exempt” as all vehicles over 10 years in NY have this. If registered in Florida or NJ it will show “TMU” brand for mileage. I’m not sure how other states may register this car. I will have the title posted soon.

  • JNasty (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

@IAS - how "thick" is that records binder? How many years records of service/build?

  • JNasty (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

@IAS - AC blow cold? Any known needs/issues for the car overall?

  • JNasty (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

@Johnny3 - looks like someone made the decision to "check the box" on the miles not accurate title brand, at least that is how it works in CA.

  • eurocol (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

Also is there any smog equipment on the car?
Do you have any supporting paperwork confirming
the official and legal importation of this vehicle,
    many thanks,

  • eurocol (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

please post a copy of the title,
    obviously hiding any personal info,
to show the type of brand mentioned in the listing,
as titling a branded title may present problems in certain States, like CA.
    Many thanks,

  • IAS (seller) 2 yearsago

@Alpinist It’s never been on a dyno with its past two owners. Just a tool around on Sunday type use as you can tell from the mileage.

  • IAS (seller) 2 yearsago

@Jahan Yes there are speakers built into a custom rear deck ( looks like headrests). No amp that I’m aware of.

  • Alpinist (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

    Any dyno numbers?

  • Jahan (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

Are there speakers on the back . Can you send pictures. Is three am Amp also?

  • IAS (seller) 2 yearsago

@Jahan There are no oil leaks, this one is absolutely bone dry and has been since I’ve known, serviced and sold this car in the past 10 years. The ac system works, the only real service it’s had is an oem sachs clutch from Patrick Motorsport upon purchase by its current owner, plus oil changes. Unfortunately the owner has not kept the receipt.

  • Jahan (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

Hi: are there any oil leaks? Are there service records and engine build records available?
    Compression leak down test?
I guess the AC is in working condition
    Thanks

  • Johnny3 (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

Someone spent a lot of money on this thing! The mileage doesn't look like a discrepancy necessarily... it looks like it sat for 18 years!

  • Two_tone_Tommy (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

@JNasty just did some quick math and the rolling diameter is only off 6% from stock (on the rear tire where wheel speed is measured for the speedometer) so a 50mph reading on the gauge is an actual 53mph . . . . Negligible in my opinion.

  • IAS (seller) 2 yearsago

@JNasty The front bumper and rear wing are not DP brand,..but funny you asked bc that’s what we thought initially but after thoroughly inspecting we have not found their markings and are not sure who built them. Their also not Getty or better bodies.
There are no catalytic converters, and we have not measured the rolling diameter with these wheels.

  • JNasty (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

@IAS - is the front bumper and rear wing DP branded? Or? Also, is this car running cats or no cats? Third, how "off" is the rolling diameter on the wheels/tires vs. stock 16"s? And has speedo/ODO been adjusted for that? Thanks.

  • IAS (seller) 2 yearsago

@oceangreen59 the only mark on the title is the for mileage. Someone registered the car this way years ago. If it was hit, stolen, flood , etc it would carry that brand on the title. This one is miles only. This car shows no signs of any of those.

  • oceangreen59 (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

Good morning from CENTRAL NJ.There are a ton of questions that could be asked here .I take on the Title issue WASTHE CAR TOTALTED ? FLOODED and let other people ask other questions, Thanks

  • IAS (seller) 2 yearsago

Thank you for taking a look at this one of a kind 930. I am here to assist the new buyer with any questions may have. As a NJ dealer I have sold this car to its 2 former owners, both of whom are fastidious car collectors, pca members, and friends. Each of these owners over the past 8 years have had to do nothing to this car but change the oil and drive. The most recent owner changed the clutch for personal preference and he continues to keep this car as one of many P cars in the stable in " ready to drive" status. That said each has only added a couple hundred miles since. I will do my best to answer your questions asap. Good Luck Bidders!
