Up for auction is this 1985 Porsche 911 Turbo Slant Nose conversion finished in white over a black leather interior.  Beginning life as a standard Turbo Coupe, this 1985 example underwent a full steel Slant Nose body conversion in the 1980’s resulting in a truly eye-catching look.  Having had its numbers matching turbocharged flat-six engine rebuilt within the last 10k miles, this Slant Nose is said to be in great driving condition with brand new tires and approximately 106k miles displayed on the odometer.

During the 1980’s this Turbo underwent a full steel Slant Nose body conversion which included the front and rear fenders, and boxed rockers.  Following the conversion this Turbo is said to have been professionally refinished in its original color of white.  The paint is noted to be in great condition with a recent full detail, paint correction and application of ceramic coating.  Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with invoices from the initial Slant Nose conversion.  This Turbo rides on OEM Fuchs wheels which come dressed in brand new BFGoodrich G-Force tires.

Inside, the driver is situated in a black leather interior which is said to be in great shape with all gauges and accessories remaining fully functional.  Some noteworthy details include factory white instrument dials, an aftermarket radio, a re-covered 930 S steering wheel and “930” logo floor mats. The air conditioning system has also been updated to use R134a refrigerant.

This 930 carries an air cooled 3.3 L turbocharged flat-six engine which is mated to a numbers matching 4-speed manual transmission.  Approximately 300 HP stock is sent to the rear wheels providing for a 0-60 time of approximately 4.5 seconds and a top speed north of 150 MPH.  A larger aftermarket intercooler is equipped, and a full engine rebuild was carried out about 10 years ago within the last 10k miles. The seller also notes that the Porsche Classic Center in Atlanta performed a recent service of the fuel injection system.  New brake pads and rotors were installed 2 years ago along with new suspension bushings.  This 930 is said to be in top running order with a collection of service records and receipts.

The sale of this Turbo will include a set of two keys and service records.  For any enthusiast who has always admired the exotic styling of the Slant Nose, this 1985 steel conversion 930 offers an incredible opportunity.

@scottyb52 Thank you Scotty! Yes it is a nice car. I have a friend with a black slant and we park them together at C&C and call them Salt and Pepper.

    Absolutely beautiful survivor and driver...

@rmccle To answer the “why” question, I retired this year and decided that this car needs to be driven more than I will make for it. I have a couple of other classic Porsches and a newer GT3. Travel will limit my car time and this is too nice a Porsche to sit in the garage.

IF not too personal, why are selling the 930? Really well cared for and enjoyed!

Apologize for the typo: "dual" exhaust. The receipt for the slant conversion is not very clear on these photos (I think #s 84 and 85) but the total was $16,439.30. Not a low cost decision and the work was well done.

@meiwah98 Thanks for asking these questions. I apologize for the delay in responding. The conversion was done by Sports Car Specialty, Route 2 920 Canaan Road, Roebuck, South Carolina. They do not have the same phone as on the invoice and I cannot confirm if they still exist. Somewhere I had a 4 page order form to select the options. But cannot locate it. I cannot find the maker of the sual exhaust but there is a service receipt dated 12/02/87 from German Motor Cars, Inc. In Cincinnati (first owner) price was $1,695.00. At the same time a K27 Turbocharger was added. ($1,800.) I had to replace that turbo about 6 years ago. The intercooler ($2,495) was on the same ticket. The fender slats are wood.

Do you know who did the Slantnose conversion?

There is an aftermarket exhaust on this car; what is the exhaust that was put in?

Are the fender slats made of metal? Or are they wood?

    Thank you.

Sorry, the Fuchs are 16 inch wheels.

Thanks for looking at my 1985 930 which was professionally converted to Flachbau. I will answer any questions I can and look forward to interesting, helpful comments. This is a 'rest of the world" [ROW] Turbo that has had upgrades over the years, being well maintained. I have owned the car over nine years. Prior owner was a not so 'little old lady' who used it as a daily driver. I drove it from Kentucky to RennSport two years ago and would not hesitate to make that trip in it again today. I do not have access to a lift for underside photos but can confirm that there is no body decompensation or damage and the underside is clean, the car having been garaged its entire life. I replaced the tires last week after the photos were taken because the ones in these photos were 9 years old and time to change. The wheels are 7's and 9's, 15 inch polished Fuchs. This car has been driven at least monthly during my ownership primarily for PCA club events, cars & coffee and other shows. I have extensive service records beginning at its import.
