Now up for auction is this 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet finished in Guards Red over a Tan leather interior.  Offering quintessential air cooled 911 styling, this 1986 Cabriolet features iconic Fuchs wheels as well a classic Whale Tail rear spoiler.  Having had its 5-speed manual transmission recently shipped out to California for a full rebuild at a cost of over $8k, this 911 is reported to have been kept in excellent driving order with included service records listing some other noteworthy maintenance items. This 911 is now being offered by its seller in Kansas while showing approximately 118k miles on the odometer.

The traditional Guards Red finish on this 911 is said to be in very good overall condition. Carfax shows minor damage to the front left quarter which has since been completely repaired (detailed images and paint meter readings are provided in the photo gallery).  This example features a front and rear spoilers, integrated front fog lights and a black Cabriolet top which is said to be in excellent shape.  This 911 rides on a set of Fuchs wheels which have recently been dressed in new tires.

Inside, the Tan leather interior is reported to be in great shape with only minor wear noted on the driver’s seat bolster.  The air conditioning system was updated at a cost of approximately $1,700 and a modern Alpine Bluetooth radio was installed along with upgraded speakers.  The seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.

This Carrera is equipped with an air cooled 3.2 L flat-six engine which sends 207 HP to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed 915 manual gearbox.  Recently at 117,715 miles, the transmission was removed and shipped to a specialist in California to be rebuilt at a cost of over $8k.  Other noteworthy maintenance items detailed in the service records include new oil cooler lines, an oil thermostat housing and new exhaust gaskets.  This 911 is reported to be up to date on all service and in fantastic running order.

This sale will include a set of 3 keys, service records and a Cabriolet top cover.

@Fresnofile The accident was very minor with no obvious damage or paint work. All numbers on this car are matching and everything works great. The transmission was sent to a renowned Porsche trans tech in Ca and shifts beautifully. Please bid with confidence on great car. Thanks Craig Martin
