Sporting an Iris Blue Metallic finish over a blue full leather interior with factory Sport Seats, this stunning 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa has been lowered and customized with a set of multi-piece BBS wheels. Described to have been well maintained and recently serviced, this Targa shows just over 112k miles on the odometer and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Alabama.

This Carrera comes finished in Iris Blue Metallic (L39U), a Porsche color offered on both the 911 and 928 models during the mid-1980s. It features an optional rear window wiper, headlight washers, removable Targa top, and aftermarket 16” BBS wheels dressed in Kumho tires. The paint is described to be mostly original and in very good overall condition. The CARFAX report shows minor front-end damage in 2020 which is said to have been completely professionally repaired, detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin is upholstered in full blue leather with matching carpets and optional electric Sport Seats. Other features include power windows and mirrors, cruise control, and air conditioning. The sound system is paired with a newer aftermarket head unit.

An air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 207 HP to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed manual transmission. The car is reported to have been freshly serviced and is described to be well maintained with excellent power delivery, steering, handling, shifting, and braking. The seller adds the suspension has also been professionally lowered and aligned for improved performance.

This sale will include a clean Alabama title, owner's manuals, and extensive service records as well as the original tools, jack, and spare tire.

Seems like a very good buy. It's hard to gauge some of the prices on these as the market has been a little schizophrenic

Gosh, what a great looking Targa. I am a big fan of traditional Fuchs, but those BBS really set that Iris Blue off. Wonderful combo that does justice to a true 80's classic. Love! GL to all.

@JRRSA93 Yes; the CarFAX in the media gallery shows minor front-end damage due to a "rear-end collision" on 2.16.2020 that was fully & professionally repaired, as mentioned the write-up.

Beautiful car. I apologize if this question was already addressed and I missed it. Was there any detail on the minor to moderate rear end accident damage shown on the CARFAX? Thanks

@Rdiehl1 Correct; IIRC the windshield antennas began in mid-MY 1985. Many had reception issues with the early antenna-imbedded windshields & signal booster and the prior owner's aircooled shop recommended installing an "old school" fender mounted antenna.

On this topic: We have the original Blaupunkt Monterey radio that will go with the Targa (will upload the photos to the Par Admin shortly).

  • Rdiehl1 1 year, 9 monthsago

To my knowledge, 1984 was the last year for the fender-mounted antenna. Why does this have one?

  • ehd911 (seller) 1 year, 9 monthsago

@BlueDevils00 Yes; the AC works and blows cold.

  • BlueDevils00 (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

Has the air conditioning been renovated or does it work?

  • ehd911 (seller) 1 year, 9 monthsago

@Roma No rust issues. The 3.2L Carrera engine is strong; it's mileage, operation & performance have not indicated a need for compression & leak down test pre-auction, thus we did not add the cost & time to schedule.

  • Ejdean67 1 year, 9 monthsago

THANKS, had a 1988 wished i still had it!

  • Roma (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

Would the Seller plz comment on any rust? In addition, if any recent compression and leak off test results are available posting that data would be helpful. Thx

  • ehd911 (seller) 1 year, 9 monthsago

@Ejdean67 The speedometer is set to a personal preference; we will ensure that it's turned to the OEM position on sale.

  • Ejdean67 1 year, 9 monthsago

speedometer, is it suppose to be crooked ?
