Up for auction is a very well presented 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe showing just 45k miles on the odometer. The selling dealer purchased this car from a PCA member who kept this car in top level condition. The car has been shown at many local events in New York and is stated to be an excellent turn-key example.
The vehicle is finished in classic Guards Red which is stated to be in exceptional condition aside minor rock chips and some wear and tear. The gallery photos are a testament to how clean this 911 really is. The seller reports that there have been some previous paintwork detected on the driver’s side due to cosmetic flaws. There is no evidence any body panels being removed/replaced. All other areas of the car still retain their original factory paint.
The vehicles interior is stated to be in exceptional, all-original condition. The seller notes that the radio head unit and speakers have been replaced with aftermarket parts that appear to have been installed when new. The seats, headliner, carpet, and dash are all free of any damage and the car is stated to have the correct “smell” that a 911 of this period should have.
Power comes from a 3.2L motronic flat-six engine that is connected to a 5-speed manual (915) transmission. The seller states that when acquiring the vehicle, the engine performed smoothly with no issues. I am friends with the previous two owners and have driven this car. It is an exceptional example of an original car. The last owner on the car for almost 20 years and it was exercised regularly. There is no deferred maintenance and everything about the car is bright, tight and right. The owner previous to him is a noted PCA Concours d'Elegance competitor. About the best two owners you would want. In my opinion this is a car that you could drive anywhere at any time.
