The car is also equipped with a rebuilt 4-speed manual gearbox, an upgraded GT2 clutch, a limited-slip differential, an aftermarket wastegate, 19” HRE wheels, a MOMO steering wheel, custom red leather seat centers, red instrument dials, an Alpine head unit, and a Kenwood amplifier. Showing approximately 134k miles on the odometer, this 930 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Arizona.

This 930 is finished in Guards Red with Turbo-specific bodywork including wide fenders, a front chin spoiler, and a “tea tray” rear spoiler. Other equipment includes yellow-tinted front fog lights, H4 headlamps, headlight washers, black stone guard decals, a rear window wiper, an electric sunroof, and dual exhaust outlets. The car rides on custom-painted 19” HRE three-piece wheels dressed in Bridgestone Potenza tires. The seller indicates some paint chips are present as well as some imperfections on the wheels. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

Inside, this 930 is appointed with Black leather upholstery and matching carpets accented by custom red seat centers and red instrument dials with yellow pointer needles. Other modifications include a three-spoke MOMO steering wheel, an aftermarket shift knob, an Alpine head unit, and a trunk-mounted Kenwood amplifier. The car is also equipped with power-adjustable front seats, power windows and mirrors, air conditioning, a central locking system, and black Porsche-branded floor mats.

The air-cooled 3.3-liter flat-six engine is said to have been rebuilt by Rick DeMan of DeMan Motorsports at approximately 86k including a 3.4-liter displacement upgrade with larger domed pistons, 964 cams, a K27 turbocharger, an oversized Kokelin intercooler, and a custom exhaust with stainless-steel headers. The engine is said to produce up to 400 HP and is paired with a rebuilt 4-speed manual transmission, an upgraded GT2 clutch, and a limited-slip differential. The seller notes many service records are included with the sale.

This sale will include an air pump, a spare tire, service records, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “Over the years I’ve continued a practice I’ve used since I was in High School. At 15 a relative gave me two cars! A 28 Essex and a 46 Buick! Neither fit into my aspirations of the first car I hoped to get. I actually gave the Essex away (it was a basket case) and traded the Buick (along with $200) for a 49 Chevy coupe. It was very original and clean (a grandpa’s car to me) so I soon sold the 49 Chevy (for a nice gain) and bought a 1954 Chevy Deluxe 2-door Coupe. I had it painted and did the interior in red and white tuck n’ roll. Had it slightly lowered in front, and it was a hit! Again, a nice gain and so on into my late adult life. Now with two very nice turbo Porsches. Like most of you, I have been a healthy and strong individual living a comfortable retirement from some “dear activities” I have enjoyed in Porsches for many years. As they say; “Cutting to the chase” as a disabled veteran at 80 years of age some restrictions begin to be imposed on your life. My way of saying “Here I am”. I have always believed in driving Porsches the way they were built to be driven. As the years rolled along, I’ve been very fortunate to have sold and upgraded my love of Porsches to the turbo world. I am realizing that my love of everything Porsche, and my passion for the better Porsche were at a pinnacle. But…My handicap, aging sight, hearing, and overall strength are chiming the same message. Maybe it’s time to relax and enjoy my art. Give up the active passion for a better P-car. For about 3 years I admired a fairly rare Porsche I was very drawn to. I made attempts to buy it from the owner (whom I knew from other car shows). He knew I wanted it but wasn’t ready to let it go. In 2022 he passed away. He was an orphan with no family or many friends. A loner. He gave the car and a BMW to a neighbor!! I was really disappointed. I made offers to the current caretaker (who did not want the car) and was afraid of it following one drive. Again, I began the process of learning everything I could about the values and red flags associated with the 1986 911 (930 Turbo) Porsche models. After weeks of negotiation, I was able to move the car to my garage and clean it up. That work is now pretty much complete. Going back to the Chase; I love this beautiful (everything I wanted) 930 Porsche! I had planned to sell my 996TT and enjoy this 930 as my “swan-song Porsche” (and a real great one too!) Another Butt…My family, some friends, and my doctors all agree “It’s time for me to slow it down with the cars.” It was hard to think about a future without a Porsche under my butt. Seeing the current and unavoidable future changes coming to my wrinkling body, I need to let this dream go. So, it’s for sale…”

No Build details from PO who passed away in 2022. Time is about to run out...

  • DonnyB (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

So close. Grab it if you can...

  • DonnyB (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@stilov I don't have the detail records for the build at 85,000 miles (2006). Looking through the service records Bosch system has been serviced and is in good condition. No other details...

  • stilov (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

@DonnyB What I was hoping to hear is what has been or hasn't been upgraded with regards to the fuel system. I don't want to assume anything, do you have any documentation that would suggest upgrades there?

  • DonnyB (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

    Service records now posted...
This an exceptional upgraded Porsche. Get it sold... Lets talk.

Sorry but cold start is a two man job. Just can't get it for you today. No smoke at start or when running...

  • DonnyB (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

Sent service records to PCM for posting... Fuel system is Bosh

  • stilov (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

@DonnyB thanks! In the meantime do you know what fuel injection system and ignition are in it?

  • DonnyB (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

I have service records going back 10+ years all from a highly respected European shop. Service was regular and kept the car up perfectly. I will try to get posted some service record pictures as soon as I can (next hour or so). PCM does the posting... We had to move the car twice for the photo shoot so no cold start that say. I'll try to get the cold start posted as well. No smoke at start or running...

  • stilov (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

Curious if you have any of the records or info on everything done and when. Mostly concerned about the Deman build. Do you know what ignition or fuel system is on the car?

  • Mrosilio (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

Hey, Just reviewed the video and it doesn't seem to be an actual cold start video.
Any chance we can get that before auction ends?
Also, any recent service records (last 3-4 years) you can post?

    Thanks

  • DonnyB (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

Last day. Don't let this stunning 930 get away. Bid your best, you just might own it. Motivated

    @DonnyB
Your notes that this brash and bold 930 was the "swan-song" of your old age brought to mind Dylan Thomas:
"Do not go gentle into that good night,
    Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light."
It made me want to start the bidding on your incredible 930! Good luck.

  • DonnyB (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@P996C4S THX, I have those same memories. Always loved the 930's big hips!
    Road worthy? Absolutely.
700 miles? It is if you are...
    Original wheels are long gone.

  • P996C4S 1 month, 1 weekago

What a treat to look at the beautiful 930!

I had a poster of this car jumping over a hill crest above my bed as a child. My love for it remains fully intaked it seems.

Is the car road-worthy of a 700 mile trip?

Are the original wheels and parts available?

  • DonnyB (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@chicagomark Everything working well, including all dash switches.(windows and sunroof run smoothly)

  • chicagomark (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

Does everything work or function as it should ?

  • jbauto (registered bidder) 1 month, 2 weeksago

I like it. I wish it was a Cab. Good luck Donny B. and all others.

  • DonnyB (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

The fenders are stock. The HRE 19"wheels are a staggered set.

  • DonnyB (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

    Stock, staggered.

  • RedArcadia 1 month, 2 weeksago

I've never seen 19" wheels fitted on one of these. Are the fenders stock or modified?

  • DonnyB (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

This an exciting car to drive for sure. It draws a crowd every time it's out. It's a striking color combination and runs great (everything works!) Looking for it to go to a Porsche enthusiast with the same kind of love I have for the brand and this very special example. Good luck bidding. Don't be shy!!
