Available for auction is this track-ready 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo finished in Alpine White with a custom racing livery. This first-year Turbo sports an updated 944 S2 5-speed transaxle and a 16-valve 2.7L blueprinted HMR engine with a brand new BorgWarner turbocharger. Additional performance upgrades including Bilstein Cup shocks, a Guard limited-slip differential, GTS front calipers and rotors, Kennedy clutch, an aluminum flywheel, and much more. It was originally built for PCA GT2 class racing and later competed in NASA GTS 3, NASA GTS 4, and ST2 events. Featuring over $100k worth of upgrades and modifications, this 944 is now being offered for auction by its owner out of Connecticut.
This 1986 example is finished in Alpine White with a removable blue vinyl wrap and racing livery. Wide fiberglass fenders have been installed as well as a fiberglass hood with heat louvers, a GT racing fiberglass bumper, SPA Racing mirrors, a Lexan rear hatch, and Lexan side windows with NACA ducts for helmet cooling. Aerodynamic features include a Crawford Cup Car wing with custom uprights welded to the frame, a front splitter with ARP support rods, and a custom flat-panel underbody with a rear diffuser. This Turbo rides on a set of BBS motorsport wheels wrapped in slick racing tires bearing 10-15 heat cycles.
Inside, the cabin has been stripped modified in preparation for track use with the installation of a Phoenix Performance roll cage, MOMO quick-release steering wheel, MOMO seats with a back brace, Schroth safety harness, and a Race Technologies dash display.
The original engine has been swapped in favor of a 16-valve 2.7L blueprinted HMR engine fitted with a brand-new BorgWarner turbocharger, wastegate, and exhaust manifold. This engine is claimed to produce over 490 HP at 16psi of boost, and the car is said to weigh in at approximately 2,600 lbs. including the driver. @shapeskis He does not have the offset. They are 3 piece wheels. You would buy the outer and inner wheel halves in the correct sizes. I have that information and they are also stamped on the wheel halves that are on the car now. You can find Bob Woodman on the internet with the store contact information. Any 3 piece wheel would work, I doesn’t need to be BBS Motorsport.

@shapeskis I don’t have an Hr. meter. I have about 3 seasons on the engine. I did the rod bearings a couple of seasons into it and they looked brand new. When the motor was built everything was new, so the rest of it has about 3 seasons on it. I have all the specs on the engine. The spreadsheet lists everything. It’s highly developed with the best of everything. Wheels are 18x12 and 18.11.5 bbs Motorsport wheels. The last set I bought was through bob woodman.

How many hours on the engine ? Do you have all the specs on the engine? When was the timing belt, rod and main bearings replaced if at all? What type and sizes are the wheels and where can another set be purchased?

@jbelcredi 2018 was probably the last time it was on the track. I did a DE before retiring with a new born. Did an oil change (Amsoil race oil) after ever event. FYI. A new filter was spun on since that picture.
All it needs is a new set of race tires. I do have a current video of it running. I thought they already uploaded it. Will try to have them to do it now.

When was the last time the car ran on the track?

@uscarrera Hi,
PCA in GT2S and NASA GTS3, GTS4, and ST2. The car has been detuned since PCA with a reduction in ignition timing to fit the NASA class HP/weight rules.
Can you tell me which organizations you have log books for and which class?
