Up for auction is this 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo finished in the highly desirable combination of Stone Grey Metallic over a Burgundy partial leather interior.  Carrying a turbocharged inline-4 engine paired with a 5-speed manual transaxle, this 944 also highlights factory Sport Seats, original phone dial wheels, and a timing belt service which was reportedly carried out in 2020. It was previously sold on PCARMARKET and has since been repurchased by the seller in Florida who is now offering it once more while showing approximately 88k miles on the odometer, accompanied by the original books, tools, window sticker, and a clean title.

The Stone Grey Metallic finish is noted by the seller to be in very good condition while appearing all-original.  Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX.  Compared with the standard 944, the Turbo model features an aerodynamically improved nose and a body-colored diffuser located below the rear valance.  This example retains factory 16” Phone Dial wheels that are said to have been mounted with new tires within the last 3 years.

The exterior finish is complemented by a Burgundy leather/leatherette-upholstered cabin with desirable factory Sport Seats.  Additional features include an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, power accessories, cruise control, and a detachable sunroof panel.  An aftermarket stereo has been installed and the original Blaupunkt radio is said to be included in the sale.  All gauges and accessories are reported to be working properly.

Representing the first model year of the 944 Turbo, this example was debuted with a new turbocharged and intercooled version of the standard 944’s 2.5 L inline-4 engine.  The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed manual transaxle and the seller reports that adjustable Koni shock absorbers have been installed.  The original window sticker also suggests an optional limited-slip differential to have been equipped from the factory.  A timing belt service was reportedly carried out in 2020 along with the recent replacements of the oil pressure switch, valve cover gasket, and cam O-rings.  Some service records are said to be included and this Turbo is stated to be in strong running order at this time.

This sale will include a set of 2 keys, owner’s manuals, the original tools, air pump, service records, the original radio, and a clean title. The 944 Turbo is one of the most increasingly valuable transaxle Porsche's on the market, do not miss out on this beautifully configured 1986 example.

Hello and good day, first off my apologies, I meant no harm to your auction. I thank you for reaching out. Beautiful car. I’ve been following this car since it was first listed here on Pcarmarket. I’ve seen this car listed for sale on other sites while searching google, I was bit surprised to see it listed back on Pcar so soon. I will say it’s been confusing and hard to follow but non the less here it is.
I will be watching this auction closely and GLWTS as they say.

Good evening! Hope that both of you had a very nice weekend.
Sometimes to me, it is very wise and polite, to ask or request and explanation in order to find out why the car is back in the Market by the same seller and or etc, before potentially risk, jeopardize or hurt the sale of another member....
Not that I feel obligated to, but I will like to share to the whole community the reason why this beautiful car is back in my GARAGE and why I am so happy of it.
The car was sold on March the 15th to a Gentleman who lives in Europe through his Rep in South America, after paying for the car the Buyer Flew for Business to the US and stop by to Pick Up the car and have it delivered to his residence in Florida.
By the time he walked into my Private Garage and after checking on His car, He fell in love with my 1977 Ferrari 308 GTB, (Giallo) and also my 1991 Testarossa, (Red/Tan), with only 19K miles, both are part of my private inventory. (I won't name myself as a Collector, just an enthusiast). After going for a spin with the Turbo we went for Lunch and he told me that he always want to have one,(Ferrari). But that in any case, he would like to have one more like a "capable daily driver" more modern Ferrari. Also and since He is moving back permanently for the next 3 years to his residence in South Florida, he engaged me to find a good one for him, that of course might fit with his expectations. We enjoy our "cars" time, shook hands and agree, that if I found the right one, he will buy it from me and as a condition, "His condition"), I do have to take back the 944 Turbo as a partial payment. Having said that, please check on the Friday sales, 05/28/21, on this very same site and look who bought the 2012 Ferrari California, (BLUE), I think that it will solve both of your dilemmas.
If you Gentlemen have any additional questions just let me know.
I will be more than glad to answer everything. Crystal clear.
I do also thank the both of you fro wishing me the best luck on my auctions.
    With all my respect.
    Principe

@Poormans_944 @Pormans_944 agree. Very odd indeed to sell a car so quickly and after paying what looks like a premium on the purchase. I too own an 86, grey over black with Fuchs and can attest to them being great cars if properly maintained.

Interesting sales history??.....This car sold on Mar 15 /21 for $26K then sold back to the selling dealer a month and a half later?? Sounds like a great way to loose money on a vehicle you just bought.

  • rsabeebe (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

i have an '86 951 and these are fantastic cars when they are in top shape mechanically. the spec on this one - stone gray over burgundy with SPORT SEATS - is very nice and you won't see it on all the other 951s. you have to spend some time with a 951 to really get how good of a car these were. glws!
