A cultural icon throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the Ferrari Testarossa boasts unmistakable Pininfarina-designed bodywork and the last of Ferrari’s flat 12-cylinder engines. This 1987 example is one of 315 U.S. versions produced for the model year and comes finished in traditional Rosso Corsa over a brown and tan Connolly leather interior. The car was originally owned in Florida and spent time in Illinois and Oregon before being acquired by the current owner in Michigan in 2014. It benefits from an upgraded Tubi Style exhaust system as well as a major service including new timing belts, gaskets, fuel injectors, HVAC maintenance, and much more. This classic Italian supercar is now being offered for auction with under 54k miles showing on the odometer.

The Pininfarina-designed bodywork of the Testarossa is defined by its sharp angles, flying buttress rear pillars, and straked side air intakes. This example is finished in Rosso Corsa and rides on original 16” single-bolt wheels with BF Goodrich G-Force Sport Comp tires (1518). The seller notes that the wheels were professionally refinished along with detailing of the engine bay as part of a major service by the Ferrari specialists at Evans Automotive Repair in Columbus, Ohio. The CARFAX report shows damage to the right side in 1989 which is believed to have been properly repaired as no evidence of damage or repair work was noted during inspections by the Cauley Ferrari dealership or Evans Automotive. Inside, the seats are upholstered in beige Connolly Leather and contrasted by a brown leather dashboard with matching carpets and lower door panels. The center console houses a traditional gated shifter assembly along with controls for the lights, air conditioning, power windows, and mirrors. The electrical system is said to have been completely sorted and improved throughout late 2020 and early 2021 by Cauley Ferrari including a new electrical panel custom-made by a specialist in Denver, CO. The dashboard was also reupholstered and the HVAC system was overhauled with a new compressor during a service by Evans Automotive at 52,516 miles.

The mid-mounted Tipo F113 4.9-liter flat-12 engine features 4-valves-per-cylinder, dry-sump lubrication, Marelli Microplex ignition, and Bosch KE-Jetronic fuel injection. Up to 380 HP is sent to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The Testarossa uses front and rear double wishbone suspension while stopping power is provided by four-wheel ventilated disc brakes. Service completed by Evans Automotive at 52,516 miles is said to have included new timing belts, tensioners, a rear main seal, distributor caps and rotors, spark plugs and wires, a new fuse panel, new fuel injectors, and all fluids, hoses, filters, and gaskets along with several other items. Another full service and inspection was performed at Cauley Ferrari in November of 2020 at 53,306 miles including some minor electrical repairs.

The seller would like you to know: “It has been driven regularly as it should be, and properly and thoroughly maintained by its owner. CARFAX reported an incident of 3/10/89, "Accident reported with another motor vehicle, damage to right side". Though no records of that or its repair exist, it must have been very properly repaired, since Cauley Ferrari (MI dealer who has done other work on the car) inspections showed nothing as a result. The mileage is correct and the odometer has never been disconnected (as may be the case with other cars with lower mileage indicated).”
