Up for auction is this 1987 Land Rover Defender 90 Turbodiesel finished in White over a custom black and brown quilted leather interior. This 5-speed 1987 example is said to have undergone a full restoration in Albania under the seller’s care shortly before it was imported to the United States in December of 2019. A custom sound system was installed, and all mechanical systems are said to have been rebuilt to like-new standards including the 2.5 L turbodiesel engine. This Defender is now being offered by its seller in Connecticut while showing approximately 217k kilometers (135k miles) on the odometer.
This example is reported to have been fully disassembled and refinished in White as part of a full refurbishment of the exterior. The paint is said to remain in immaculate overall condition, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery. Exterior features include upgraded LED lighting, black fender flares, mud flaps, a trailer hitch, a rear step, and a painted rear-mounted spare to match the additional set of wheels that will be included. This Land Rover currently rides 15” alloy wheels dressed in Bridgestone Blizzak tires.
Inside, the cabin has been completely reupholstered in black and brown leather with quilted pattern stitching. A brown suede headliner was also added along with a 7” touchscreen head unit, custom sound system, and backup camera. Other features include an aftermarket steering wheel, opposing rear jump seats, and a custom floor liner. All components are said to have been refurbished to proper working order.
The 2.5 L inline 4-cylinder turbodiesel engine is said to have been fully rebuilt in Albania. A 5-speed manual gearbox with a dual-range transfer case sends power to all four wheels. All mechanical systems are said to have been fully sorted and restored to like-new operating condition. This Defender is reported to be in excellent driving order and the seller indicates they have added approximately 20k kilometers of the total mileage displayed.
