Now up for auction is this 1987 Mercedes-Benz 190E 3.2L DTM-tribute.  Styled after the iconic 190E touring cars of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM) series, this example features 16-valve body styling, an Evo 1 type wing, Lexan windows, a stripped-out racing interior, and new OZ Competition-style wheels.  Also enhanced with a European-spec M104 3.2 L engine, an upgraded suspension, and a 5-speed 717 gearbox with a limited-slip differential, this 190E offers the performance to match its race-inspired looks. Remaining street legal and in excellent running order, this 190E is now being listed by its seller in Florida accompanied by a clean title and an assortment of spare parts.

This Mercedes is painted in white and fitted with full 16-valve body cladding and an Evo 1 type wing.  Other features include lightweight Lexan windows, quick-release hood pins, aero mirrors, a Mercedes-Benz windshield banner, a welded sunroof panel, and new Euro-spec headlights.  This example rides on replica OZ Competition wheels that come dressed in new Achilles tires.  An additional set of tinted taillights will also be included in the sale.

Inside, the cabin has been completely stripped out, painted, and transformed into a lightweight racing cockpit.  A 6-point 1.5” diameter roll cage has been integrated and a Sparco racing seat has been installed along with a safety harness, a quick-release steering wheel, and push-start ignition.  All gauges and switches have also been consolidated into a central panel with the exception of the tachometer behind the steering wheel.  All supplemental accessories have been removed for weight savings and the seller confirms all essential electronics to be working properly.  CARFAX shows a potential mileage discrepancy and the total mileage remains unknown.

This 190E has been fitted with a European-spec M104 3.2 L DOHC inline 6-cylinder engine paired with a 5-speed 717 gearbox with a 3.27 limited-slip differential.  Upgrades include a free-flowing exhaust with 1 muffler, solid drivetrain mounts, an oversized throttle body, an Aeromotive fuel system with a foam-filled fuel cell, a DTA Fast Pro ECU, and a complete custom wiring harness.  The suspension has been upgraded with Bilstein shocks and H&R springs, and the brakes have been improved with cross-drilled rotors and EBC Red brake pads.  A recent dyno test reported an output of 207 HP and 219 lb.-ft of torque at the rear wheels and the seller indicates the engine to offer excellent compression with a recently replaced head gasket.  A new clutch, radiator, and electric fan have been installed and a major recent service was performed which included all new fluids and filters, spark plugs, ignition coils, and a battery.
